1. Dawkins: a theologian's perspective

I'm afraid I don't feel sorry for theologians "wasting their lives with their pretend philosophy when they might have spent it on real philosophy, learning something".
For the masses, theologians continue to give intellectually sustaining legitimacy to religions and their rules for living.
Their nonsense arguments are not just silly bits of amusement to be picked apart by those that can. Their lies are the worst of all, coming from the most powerful and influential of the flock. God should reserve a special place in hell for them.
I think Richard et al should ridicule these people more and not the relatively uneducated masses who just follow - some to extremes.

Speaking as an Australian I have never heard of John Mackay. I seriously doubt that very many other Australians have either. For me picking out the crackpots spoils the education (although I do like the laughs it brings).
What I would really like to see done is for someone to interview all of the major religions on camera and get their official responses to a standard list of relevant questions (without them being able to dodge the questions or squirm their way out with poetic language). Such material (done well) would be invaluable for educating children.

I think there are a lot of "believers" who think like this - at least this woman is open about it.
