4. Hitchens on Falwell, Part 2

Comment #43615 by AtheistJunkie on May 22, 2007 at 5:50 am

That reed guy was calling him doctor falwell. WTF.

Hitch is unshakable. He's a rock.

5. Freethinking Ruins All Things

Comment #42350 by AtheistJunkie on May 18, 2007 at 5:26 am

This is the post of a desperate man trying to salvage according the first sentence of their About section "What's Wrong with the World is dedicated to the defense of what remains of Christendom".

Freethought is here to destroy what remains. But it's not being done intentionally. We're not fear mongering, ruthless inquisitors. We use reason and rational thinking, religion's worst enemy.

And yes, god(s) are nothing but a figment of humans' imagination.

6. Hitchens on Falwell

Comment #41849 by AtheistJunkie on May 17, 2007 at 7:36 am

Right on the money Chris. My feelings exactly.
I met Hitchens 2 days ago and he took the time to chat with me during the book signing. I was impressed. Even though I disagree with his stance on the Iraq war, he's an awesome debater and a guy with a universe of knowledge.

7. Television evangelist Falwell dies at 73

Comment #41265 by AtheistJunkie on May 15, 2007 at 6:21 pm

It's Satan who did it I tell you. It's SATAN. HAHAHAHAHAHA (ominous laugh)

The guy was pure poison to the American society. GOOD RIDDANCE.

10. Anderson Cooper interviews Christopher Hitchens

Comment #39261 by AtheistJunkie on May 10, 2007 at 8:27 am

I liked the interview but I would agree with Rtambree about the music, poetry...

And without going to details, the world would be a much better place without religion. However, I doubt we'll ever experience such a world as long as humans are weak and in need of b.s. in their lives.

13. 'god is not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything' by Christopher Hitchens

Comment #36205 by AtheistJunkie on April 30, 2007 at 1:26 pm

Comment by Janus:

So no, Hitchens (and Dawkins and Harris) aren't preaching to the choir. They're preaching to non-believers who should be in the choir, but aren't.

Good call, I was a passive atheist until I saw RD last September in "The Root of All Evil?" and that changed my perspective on atheism and what I need to do about it.

14. Hey Mom, I'm an Atheist

Comment #30973 by AtheistJunkie on April 10, 2007 at 1:32 pm

If this is real, I hope he knows that the video has been watched by thousands of people and all these people are behind him 1000000%.

16. The Most Hated Family in America

Comment #29594 by AtheistJunkie on April 3, 2007 at 2:20 pm

Bremas, unfortunately this is not a hoax and I have heard of those numb nuts.

The right winger fanatic Hannity was attacking those people. Fox Noise looks tame compared to these people.

Comment #29585 by AtheistJunkie on April 3, 2007 at 1:46 pm

This is a good example of how the bible is applied without cherry-picking. These people are practicing exactly what the bible says (especially the old testament)

18. Religion useless to Dawkins

Comment #29325 by AtheistJunkie on April 2, 2007 at 2:56 pm

Coincidence? Dawkins would say it was just me being clumsy.

Sorry to break it to you but you were being clumsy. No need to make more of it.

19. Hell is real and eternal: Pope

Comment #27978 by AtheistJunkie on March 27, 2007 at 1:32 pm

I wonder how he knows that it's real??

Maybe I should ask him if I'm going to win the lottery. I'm sure that knowing that such crap exists is much harder than lottery.

20. Peanut Butter, The Atheist's Nightmare!

Comment #27862 by AtheistJunkie on March 27, 2007 at 4:33 am

It's really not that far fetched that such people exist in this country. I, unfortunately, live around hundreds of them in the southeast.

fonex, this comment is for this posting. I have been saying this since I doubted the existence of this fairy tale creature. And that was 23 years ago....Cheers

23. Saving believers: Former Christian finds calling to preach the good news of atheism

Comment #26690 by AtheistJunkie on March 21, 2007 at 7:12 am

It's never completely dark. There are always lights that shine out there that tell us don't feel down and don't despair.
Matt is one of them.

30. Response to Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris

Comment #25019 by AtheistJunkie on March 9, 2007 at 6:00 pm

Looks like this guy really believes what he's talking about. Utter bullshit. Horrible analogies. He's got to be one of the worst I've ever heard in arguing about science.

Please do us a favour and get some education. What a waste of time.

31. U.S. Mint goof creates 'Godless dollars'

Comment #24832 by AtheistJunkie on March 8, 2007 at 7:11 pm

The U.S. was founded on one and only one document. The constitution which is the supreme law of the land. Not one time the word god is mentioned. We will keep on fighting ignorance and bigots. This is the fight to preserve our civilization. Throughout history, reason and rational thinking has overcome and this will not be different.

33. Why there are almost no genuine atheists

Comment #24455 by AtheistJunkie on March 6, 2007 at 6:24 pm

Once again the theists are proving that they're either ignorant or just plain lazy to research atheism.

Psssst, theists, there's something called Google. Just type atheism and click on the Enter button. If you need help, we are more than happy to assist.

34. Falwell says Christians shouldn't focus on global warming

Comment #23720 by AtheistJunkie on March 2, 2007 at 8:01 am

Falwell quote "first-class nuts". SIGH SIGH
I'm just not going to dignify idiots.

35. Merkel wants EU to be vocal about Christian roots

Comment #23615 by AtheistJunkie on March 1, 2007 at 6:52 pm

It's very disappointing to hear this. I would really like to think that Europe is immune to such idiotic behaviour but you never know. Gotta love the French. I'm originally from Canada but been in the U.S. for long time now. I think that Europe at its worst will still be more logical and rational that us when it comes to letting theocracy prevail. Of course, I'm talking in general. If it wasn't for the continuous work and the militancy of the seculars, we would have been overrun by the religious nuts.

36. Is America Too Damn Religious?

Comment #22643 by AtheistJunkie on February 20, 2007 at 8:24 am

Absolutely. Too damn religious. Any amount of religion is too much damn religion.

37. Evolution Sunday

Comment #21870 by AtheistJunkie on February 11, 2007 at 10:04 am

Reason, rational thinking, skepticism, probing and acquiring knowledge based on real evidence and not some bronze age scribbles, are the only ways our civilization has a chance to survive and prosper.

38. The God Delusion

Comment #21845 by AtheistJunkie on February 11, 2007 at 7:44 am

Comment #21829 - Of course there's always some sort of justification for theists. Justification based on religious belief will always trump human suffering. Especially in this case or any case where people of reason and rational thinking try to alleviate human suffering.

I deal with theists like you on a daily basis. You have nothing new or of any value to add. There are people of faith that you can reason with but for most, well, you just can't. So, go with your merry self.

39. The God Delusion

Comment #21826 by AtheistJunkie on February 11, 2007 at 6:51 am

it was his assistants and missionaries who have done more to promote education in Africa than any nation state.

Are you for real? Teaching that using condoms is immoral while hundreds are being wiped by AIDS.

40. The questions science cannot answer

Comment #21624 by AtheistJunkie on February 10, 2007 at 7:38 am

Whenever reason and rational thinking make progress, the godmongers lashout. They have nothing to stand on so they challenge us with their myths and superstition.

We can't do much about stupid, ignorant, gullible, credulous fools but we can educate the new generation and the willing.

41. Do stop behaving as if you are God, Professor Dawkins

Comment #21016 by AtheistJunkie on February 7, 2007 at 9:50 am

People that don't bring any value to our world are such a waste of space. Halfway through the article, I decided it's going to be a waste of time.
As long as there are people that cannot break the mold of their upbringing, we will have such junk to put up with.

42. Believing In Things Unseen Is Not Delusion

Comment #20726 by AtheistJunkie on February 6, 2007 at 6:54 am

Same old bankrupt and meaningless stories recited and recycled. It all boils down to absolutely no evidence at all but the delusions of the author.

44. U.S. 'Satisfied' With Religion's Public Role, But More Want Less

Comment #20530 by AtheistJunkie on February 3, 2007 at 7:45 pm

The problem in the U.S. is that a lot of atheists and agnostics will not show their true colors in the fear of being persecuted. However, this attitude is changing slowly with the help of heroes like Dawkins , Sam Harris and others.

45. No stoning, Canada migrants told

Comment #20275 by AtheistJunkie on February 1, 2007 at 12:50 pm

Yes linck, it's the law in some countries and where it's not the law, you will definitely suffer serious harm, physically and psychologically. Indeed, we are going through dark times in human civilization despite all the advances and discoveries we have achieved.

46. No stoning, Canada migrants told

Comment #20261 by AtheistJunkie on February 1, 2007 at 10:31 am

I'm from Montreal and a son of an immigrant. I completely agree with the idea of assimilation to a certain point. One should never forget his/her roots and traditions. However, you're not in your country of birth anymore and when in Rome... Immigrants, whether by choice or force, have come to live here and have an obligation to respect the society that they have adopted. I am sure if I go to live in a Middle Eastern country, I am expected to abide 100% by their traditions. Even worse, if they find out that I'm an atheist, I'll be in a lot of trouble. Sure you would say that we live a tolerant society but tolerance has its limits.

50. The New Atheists

Comment #16283 by AtheistJunkie on January 5, 2007 at 8:36 pm

"I think of Richard Dawkins as the kind of Jerry Falwell of the atheists."
This guy has a serious lack in information about Falwell or just plain ignorant.
