First of all a thank you to elustuarto for making me laugh out loud!!
My main point is this, if this sending a book to each MP effort goes ahead (as i sincerely hope it does)some faith based person, MP or even a combination of both is going to make the arguement that the exercise grew out of the Richard Dawkins website and has allowed Dr Dawkins to sell 646 extra copies of his book which at £10 each is an extra £6460 ( iam using the amazon price as guide here, my own copy cost £20 from bloody waterstones!!!)i am not suggesting for a moment that this is all a sneeky ploy by Dr Dawkins, just merely anticipating what some may think and say in opposition to this campaign.
I think the best way out of this problem would be for Dr Dawkins himself to pledge the extra money that would come in to charity, or even to use it for some kind of reserach. We could then have a cover note sent with each book that not only said how united so many atheists are in there wish to keep church and state seperate, but also that Dr Dawkins did not profit personally (in the economic sense)from this secular initiative.
What do you guys think?

if your looking for some criticism of the muslim world, or humour directed against it, you need not look any furthur than the only mainstream tv programme that has (to my knowledge, please correct if mistaken) taken the piss out of every major religion operating in the US today, and thats Southpark, in the episodes (its a 2 parter)cartoon wars they showed the image of muhammad which was censored (in the US and the UK any way. It might not be to everyones liking but i believe southpark have carried on what the pythons started, not just with their sense of humour but there attack on anything the makers believe to be absurd, especially religion, its ripped the jewish, catholic, mormon, muslim and scientology faiths, whilst also attacking atheism. understand that many of you may be hostile to southpark after Richard Dawkins was also ripped on it, but even them episodes made some good points about atheism (plus they were really funny).
Just one last point, this is for all those who live outside the UK, during the last census of the population (about 4-5years ago) in the cloumn where it asks about your religion the religion with the greatest amount of signatures was? ..............JEDI KNIGHT but officials refused to recognise it as a genuine religion. but whats the difference in basing your life on a set of movies that are fiction, than basing your life on a book of fiction that was written around 200 years ago? who knows maybe in another 2000 years some will worship the jedi, others the sith and lightsabers will be all the rage!!!
