didn't einstein settle this a century ago with relativity? if when you are in time depends on where you are in space, as well as your speed through spacetime, then haven't our choices "already" been made?

nice article- maybe dershowitz should write a book about the declaration of independence... then journalists could mention that when quoting him...

5. Could these books be part of the problem?
Comment #61116 by stevieb on August 3, 2007 at 5:53 pm
the public shouldn't need "atheism for dummies" any more than "not believing in santa for dummies". how about "thinking for dummies" or "logic for dummies"?
the counter to these "X for dummies" and "complete idiot's guide to X" is the "intelligent person's guide to X". the catalog is not as broad as its competitors, but it does include atheism (see my above post)

the germans will probably not have too much trouble associating it with "imagine" by john lennon.

they left out an important reviewer quote:
"Wenn dieses Buch die Welt nicht verändert, werden wir alle total beschissen worden." - Penn (Penn & Teller)
while I don't think penn & teller are known so well in germany, it's still an awesome quote.

lesbian sex? if it weren't for lesbian sex, what would religious conservatives watch in their convention hotel rooms?
12. Should Science Speak to Faith? A dialog between Lawrence Krauss and Richard Dawkins

sorry to jump off-topic for a second, but can someone explain to me how to submit something to be posted on this site? there's nothing listed in the "contact" section
thanks, and i did, in fact, read the above article, and enjoyed it a lot. krauss' ideas about engaging the other side are intriguing to me; i feel much the same as Richard, and am always willing to entertain well-reasoned arguments from our more magnanimous colleagues.

nice to hear the title of the book pronounced with the correct syllabic emphasis, "God is NOT Great;" this refers back to the Islamic "God is Great."

if anyone has either these two audio files or the hitchens/sharpton available as mp3s, i'd be grateful for the chance to listen to these on my portable player. i tried the method described in the sharpton thread (linux here :-)) but ran into a roadblock:

we've looked into this before; there weren't any legislators who were interested in pursuing this, especially with the gay marriage issue so much in the public eye. In addition, American Atheists didn't think it was a wise exertion of energy when no one takes the law seriously anyway.
we're still looking for someone who lives in lowell to help fight the recitation of the Lord's Prayer at the city council meetings. I've sent a few articles to this site, but they were not put up.
