1. You can't prove that you love someone, so don't expect proof of God
Comment #82018 by Shocking Blue on October 25, 2007 at 2:40 pm
One of those irrational arguments that twisted-minded god-believers come out with. Of course we expect some sort of "proof" or "signal" that people we expect to love us, do love us. And we do the same thing back. And we also know exactly, when such signals are not or no longer there. Would I believe that someone loves me if there's not slightest hint that this is in fact the case?
2. Non-believers can be bigoted too

@Posiedon: You're right, Hitler was not an atheist. In the film "Triumph of the Will" he mentions god as the one who created the German people and who is superior to him.
sane1: You're right.
3. Non-believers can be bigoted too

"Fundamentalism, whether Islamic, Christian or Hindu, has found a hold in recent years, not because people have suddenly decided to read scriptures more literally, but because the failure of secular political movements, the rise of identity politics and the collapse of traditional moral codes have all made radical faith-based identities seem attractive."
Is there any piece of evidence to back up this claim or is it just one of those hypotheses that are made to fit the author's view of the world?
4. Why there are almost no genuine atheists

Perhaps it gives P. C. Campus some sort of comfort to believe that all those people who describe themselves as atheists aren't "genuine" and that in reality they have some belief in god. After all, from that viewpoint, the world isn't quite as goodless as it seems and everyone still has their chance to go to heaven...

7. Richard Dawkins interview with Paula Zahn

As to the second video clip: "Where do you get your morals from?" From your parents perhaps? From the environment that you've been socialised into? The last thing you want to get your morals from is the bible...

Thanks for uploading the clips so promptly. Richard Dawkins was so brilliant and convincing - considering the short time he was given. Lovely smile in the end... I hope his words will stick in the minds of all who've seen him.

Lovely pics. RD is a very handsome man with a British charme. I'm not surprised about all these female admirers.
