1. Richard Dawkins on Doctor Who

I think his bad acting is a good thing - it means his on-stage persona is exactly like he is. He really does believe what he's saying, it's not just an act as some uncomplimentary theists are claiming.
I just liked the way they made him state as "empirical fact" that the Earth had moved.
This is probably what the real Dawkins would have said in such circumstances:
"well - I'm a biologist, so this isn't really my field, but the evidence we have .. (and indeed most of the astronomers and physicists I've talked to say this)...shows that the constellations are completely different, yet consistent with the stars relative distance from each other. We've moved to another location in the universe and it's the business of science to find out how and why that has happened. But if you want more detail than that you'll have to ask a physicist or an astronomer ... sorry to be so vague.."
2. Richard Dawkins interviewed by John Humphrys on Cardinal Murphy O'Connor

Haha ...
Dawkins gave Humphreys arse a thorough kicking.
It was humiliating to listen to.
No wonder Humphreys cut it short.

And they wonder why we don't believe in God.
We brought in a smoking ban for every single institution in the UK.
It's now time for a human rights abuse ban plastered on to the front door of every educational and religious institution in the land as well.
The law of this country (UK) says that gay people, disabled people and females are equal to any other person.
It's time for our own ten commandments to be drawn up using universal values of fairness and decency. And to assert OUR values by insisting that religious institutions paste those values up in a similar manner to all those that were forced to adopt the smoking ban. That might seem heavy handed against the Church of England, for example. But we have to be seen as treating every institution as equal.
And if the mosques won't agree to post that up on their front door for "religious reasons" (because they see women as inferior) then close them down and convert them into homeless shelters or something useful.
There is to be no sharia law in the UK. I will take up arms the moment it is introduced into legislation, and I hope many others will too.

Loved the Dawkins sunglasses and wine glass shot!
It suggests that maybe RichardDawkins.Net is responsible for this video?

The music at the start was hilarious - they might as well have played the music to Halloween or Jaws.
Personally, when that dumb "professor" of english came on, I'd have put the music to Laurel and Hardy underneath him or maybe "Always look on the bright side of life".

I don't think it was a calculated publicity stunt. If they wanted to do that, they should have thrown out Richard Dawkins.
7. Happy Birthday, Richard Dawkins!

Many happy returns!
I would suggest a trip to the cinema as a birthday treat, but your recent taste in films leaves a lot to be desired! I don't think I could bear it.

It must be hugely flattering for Dawky that his book has spawned so many unwanted sequels. 11.5 according to the latest count!
That shows just how influential this book has become - and rightly so. It's like a skillful boxer who is outclassing his opponents left, right and centre - so they resort to a flurry of clumsy last ditch punches in order to win by an unlikely knockout when, really, they should just throw the towel in.

I too am tired of these po-faced reviews of the God Delusion. Why do we not see something original and funny, like:
"This pretentious collection of cheapshots at religion prompts one to ask the question:
Upon what day did the Lord create Richard Dawkins? And couldn't he have rested on that day too?"
Hehe. Then we could at least have a laugh.

The only people he's hoodwinking are the so-called atheists above me. You're supposed to question nonsense!
Actors (and not particularly good ones) were involved here.
It's plain to see - the converted man was a particularly poor actor.
This was also true of Brown's dreadful "heist" gig. Not one of the actors used in that was any good either. Ordinary people supposedly persuaded to rob a Securicor van! They couldn't act for toffee and it showed.
But the most appalling thing is that the respondents above me are taking Derren Brown's act to be true when ANY questioning individual would see multiple holes in his performance - and, just as we demand an explanation for the existence of God as atheists - it strikes me as completely at odds that this charlatan will try to "expose religious belief" without ever telling us the secrets of his "magic".
You've all been hoodwinked by his rather lazy trickery.
11. Does Richard Dawkins exist?
Comment #21889 by JazzX on February 11, 2007 at 1:00 pm
That was fairly amusing - I'm sure RD would have a chuckle at that. It seemed pretty good-natured ribbing to me. The sort of thing Rory Bremner might do.
But then I checked out the guy who made it - he really does think he's taking Richard Dawkins apart.
That's more hilarious than anything in the video!
Does Dawkins exist? Clearly - it prompted someone to make a lame video to rebuke him.
As a satirical comedy it's pretty funny.
As a sharp-witted scathing attack, it's completely laughable as its very premise demands there's a Dawkins to attack!
