People I love you an all, but I know when the train's leaving the station. In fact I'm writing my own flea book:

Recasting the Spell: Why Dennett is Phenomenally Unnatural.

It's not going to go away until a majority believes it's bullshit.

didn't they wonder why it's under BS in the Harvard library system?

It's true, the gate to heaven is in the north. That's why it's called Gateshead. There's this big Angel there and everything!

7. Debate between Alister McGrath and Peter Atkins

Comment #27092 by Estragon on March 23, 2007 at 5:57 am

If I have to hear McGrath's little life story once more I will shoot myself. Frankly this got me depressed right from when that guy told us he was president of the Christian Union and the Philosophy society (one is about free intellectual enquiry, the other about pushing some ridiculous dogmas on as many people as possible).

Well done to Peter Atkins anyway.

If there is a God may he knock this website off the web!

well if you're reading this god doesn't exist, as you may have already concluded.

Concerning the bit about the spanish armada there are still people who believe the defeat of the Turkish fleet at Lepanto (ably commemorated in G.K.Chesterton's poem) was the result of a rosary crusade. I can't figure out however if the first crusade captured Jerusalem because God helped them or if Saladin recaptured it because God helped him. Perhaps God's just a real nice guy who'll lend a hand to anyone. . .

Roberston has made a recent post on the Troll thread and I think he can still post there, so we can talk to him in the outhouse so to speak

11. Is God a Delusion? Atheism and the Meaning of Life

Comment #22417 by Estragon on February 17, 2007 at 2:02 am

I'm not trying to be picky but in the above-mentioned passage Jesus is telling a parable, and the king (or whatever) in the parable says bring my enemies before me and slay them.

Either way Jesus' disciples obeyed the command, although not until a few centuries later.

R.E melisande The latin "Apologia" meant more "to defend" than "to apologise" and it's that meaning that apologetics comes from.
