1. Mail-boat record 'proves Darwin stole his original ideas from a Welsh scientist'

Comment #184639 by koldito on May 25, 2008 at 10:09 pm

I doubt this will be of interest to any working biologist. If Davies is correct, though, then we should expect creationists to start talking about how Wallacists attempt to supress alternative theories about the origin of life and so on and so forth.

2. Girl, 17, killed in Iraq for loving a British soldier

Comment #171428 by koldito on April 28, 2008 at 1:36 pm

Thousands upon thousands of people have been killed in the Iraq war, and this fucker somehow managed to survive. The world is definitely an unfair place.

3. Anti-evolution bill clears another hurdle

Paraphrasing Lewis Black, these people deserve to have fossils thrown at their heads.

4. 'Expelled' Movie: The Extended Trailer

Halfway through the video he says that "we live in a free society, not in nazi Germany". Do we get to call Godwin's Law on him?

5. Rome playing politics

Comment #84819 by koldito on November 3, 2007 at 5:41 pm

I just wanted to point out that the top boss of Spanish catholicism, cardinal Antonio Caņizares, recently declared (literally) that those who support the civics course at school are guilty of supporting evil. I guess the Church has no place for human rights.

6. Italy's Padre Pio 'faked his stigmata with acid'

Comment #81186 by koldito on October 24, 2007 at 11:16 am

Given the circumstances, we should expect the Catholic Church to revoke his sainthood any time soon, right? Or at least acknowledge that liars can also become saints.

7. New Noah's Ark ready to sail

Some people just want to have an extravagantly large boathouse and don't know how to justify it.

8. The God disunion: there is a place for faith in science, insists Winston

Comment #34709 by koldito on April 25, 2007 at 1:24 am

Robert Winston says that,

"...it is very patronising to call a serious book about other peoples' views of the universe and everything a delusion."

So, since when does the Bible (or the Quran, or the Talmud, or...) qualify as "serious"? They are about as serious as Lord of the Rings, and about as much as pain in the ass to read.

9. Pope abolishes limbo

Comment #34036 by koldito on April 23, 2007 at 4:54 am

I have the suspicion that "Devolved" (post #34024) is the same guy that appeared in this Pharyngula post.

http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2007/04/pompous_git_solves_the_problem.php

Could anybody (including "devolved" himself) confirm this?

10. Pope says science too narrow to explain creation

Comment #31293 by koldito on April 12, 2007 at 12:03 am

After reading this, I finally understand Dawkins' claim that religious moderates (whatever) are every bit as dangerous as fundies.

11. How to defend your faith with an electric wheelchair

It is like people watching at a Wal-Mart (not sure the brits will get that joke).

No, I don't. Care to explain, please?
