1. All aboard the atheist bus campaign

Comment #268144 by The Krell on October 21, 2008 at 1:01 pm

I can't wait to see the Daily Mail's hysterical response on this campaign. I've no doubt it will Melanie Phillips who will be trotted out to do a full page spread to reassure the sheep that the atheist wolf must be kept at bay and the Mail is the good shepherd to do it. Well, mint sauce!

2. Sexpelled: No Intercourse Allowed

Wasn't it a Jesuit monk who said,"Give the stork and I give you the baby."

3. Lying for Jesus?

The comment by RobDinsmore, although meant to be humourous, is misleading. Evolution is evolution. Darwin's name is linked to it only in so far as his studies are the most plausable explanation of its operation. Therefore, he is not responsible for Hitler anymore than Sigmund Freud is responsible everybody's psychological problems.

4. Religion 'linked to happy life'

Comment #146742 by The Krell on March 19, 2008 at 10:38 am

There is some truth in the findings without going into research. The reassurance gained from imagining an ethereal parent figure plays to our childhood needs. To most, their religious pursuasion is based on the comfort blanket syndrome. Very few believers see their faith as an ideal on which to discipline their lives even to risking persecution. The atheist and agnostic have nothing to sustain them in adversity other than their own resources of personal strength. Even Tony Blair admitted that religion offered him strength in his role as prime minister, demonstrating that he wasn't up to the job. Looking to one's internal resources, though testing, does ultimately build character; looking to external support tends towards weakness. Becoming aware of one's own inner strength induces a more sublime sense of self worth and well being.

5. Charles Simonyi Professorship in the Public Understanding of Science

I am sure Prof. Dawkins will continue to burn bright in the scientific world. His books are inspirational in revealing the astounding truths of Nature to the lay person.

6. Arrogance, dogma and why science - not faith - is the new enemy of reason

Comment #62377 by The Krell on August 9, 2007 at 1:41 pm

Donald, comment #671820, is wasting his time sending letters that debunk religion to the Daily Mail for publication. They only entertain letters that contribute to their bland simplistic editorial style.

7. Response to the God Delusion

Comment #61417 by The Krell on August 5, 2007 at 5:05 am

The more people like Steve Midgeley present their arguments the more widespread will be the awareness of the fallacy of their reasoning. Keep up the good work, Steve, you're dong us atheists a big favour.

8. Response to the God Delusion

Comment #61415 by The Krell on August 5, 2007 at 4:56 am

Lets us have more Steve Midgeleys arguing their case for a god. They demonstrate a consistent failure to use the most fundermental tenets of logic in presenting their arguments. But then they do not have a choice. They are compelled to depend upon sentiment, distortion and mass hysteria to explain their beliefs because logic will not.
