1. Review of Darwin's Angel: An Angelic Response to the God Delusion

Comment #69142 by Astroboy on September 9, 2007 at 7:13 pm

His account of the Bible is equally undiscriminating. For a start, only religious nutcases take the Creation story literally; it is not a new or radical supposition that even the first readers of Genesis would have been aware of its symbolic nature – or rather, would have distinguished between the fact of fact and the fact of fiction, a distinction that escapes Dawkins, who appears to have no concept of the "reality" of a thought, and only a very immature concept of the "reality" of a play, novel or poem. (As I used to ask students, is Hamlet real?)

Hehe, that's why we have creationists nowadays. They indeed think and understand the book of Genesis as literal.

2. The infinite wisdom of Richard Dawkins

Comment #51763 by Astroboy on June 24, 2007 at 6:35 pm

He takes as an example the fundamentalist Christian view that the Earth, beginning with Genesis, is 6,000 years old - a statement of faith he labels "completely childish and insane." I can't help mentioning that Canada's Minister of Public Security, Stockwell Day, has been known to express this belief in his time.

haha... what kind of minister is he? how did he get his job with that kind of intelligence? sheesh

3. Vatican cardinal calls on Catholics to stop funding Amnesty

The Vatican does not care about people. All it cares about is its doctrines.

5. Two idiots get a forum

"Most people equate atheism with intellectualism," Comfort added, "but it's actually an intellectual embarrassment. I am amazed at how many people think that God's existence is a matter of faith. It's not, and I will prove it at the debate - once and for all. This is not a joke. I will present undeniable scientific proof that God exists.

Sheesh. What an idiot indeed! It's a good thing he's not on our side.

6. Potentially habitable planet found

Comment #35273 by Astroboy on April 26, 2007 at 6:44 pm

No need to send Xians, we can send a probe with bacteria on board so that when it arrives the bacteria can evolve into Creationsists over time!

And eventually, they will call the spaceship that transported them their 'Garden of Eden'.

7. The God disunion: there is a place for faith in science, insists Winston

Comment #34714 by Astroboy on April 25, 2007 at 1:44 am

If Lord Winston is indeed an eminent scientist, I think he should use his brain more often.

9. Atheism isn't the final word

Comment #33051 by Astroboy on April 19, 2007 at 4:26 am

What would a world without God look like? Well, for one, morality becomes, if not impossible, exceedingly difficult.

What a dummy. Maybe this author needs a 'higher authority' other than his mind to help him distinguish between right and wrong. Maybe when he was a growing child he was used to being told what to do.

10. Pope says science too narrow to explain creation

Comment #31275 by Astroboy on April 11, 2007 at 8:50 pm

The Pope also says the Darwinist theory of evolution is not completely provable because mutations over hundreds of thousands of years cannot be reproduced in a laboratory.

Sheesh. We don't have to prove evolution in the laboratory. The fossils that archeologists have dug up are enough proof.

11. Prophets of the new atheism

"For one thing, God gives objective definition to our ideas of right and wrong, crucial for civilization. Equally important, he provides meaning to life itself."

Haha! I have to laugh at this. If this is true, how come there are still believers out there who can't find any meaning in their lives?
