I'd just like to point out something about this story that struck me, and it's not about the question of what kind of memory animals may have or whether or not they can plan for the future.

What I noticed was that Dr. Suddendorf who "has been so critical of previous studies" is rethinking his position in light of the evidence. My goodness! What an anomaly. Using evidence instead of faith to work toward determining the truth.

This has to be a hoax. I did a Google search of the news looking for Kansas and Pokemon and nothing showed up. If it were real there certainly would have been something in a Kansas newspaper.

For those of you who had never heard of this group and wondered if it was a hoax I assure you they are real. For a long time they just picketted funerals of gay people and so, although they were completely disgusting, the media took little notice of them. Afterall, in America it's still OK to "hate fags". But when they started picketting military funerals the public suddenly got upset.
