I did all I could, but, alas, I think you are all shades (including the more horrific off yellow or pink ones), shapes and sizes of wrong.


I have read and studied History quite a lot, I have read watched or asked questions concerning Archaeology, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Common Sense, Rationality, Logic, Reason, Maths, Philosophy, Lemmy and they are all saying your God does not exist.

All I have from you is that you have faith and imagination about how and why your God exists. I have seen nothing more that could be considered as your evidence. I find it very weak to be honest.

What was I supposed to do? Am I supposed to be able to find God or Jesus knocking around behind the Laws of Science? (Funny how they would still work if God and Jesus were not included)

Am I supposed to look behind the proper history of the Earth to fit these guys in? (Funny how history works without God or Jesus!)

Come on David this is pointless, I am never going to find God, even your God, behind the evidence at everyone's disposal.

I saw a magnificent program called Stephen Hawking - Master of the Universe

This program, even to a complete science beginner like myself, was enormously interesting. Explanations of Quantum Theory, String Theory, M- Theory were fascinating as were Hawking's studies of black holes, I never knew they could create things as well as destroy. One thing I found utterly magnificent is that if gravity was understood more then the Theory of Life, Universe and Everything would be so much more understandable. I was also very interested to know that the force of gravity is weaker than it should be and that something is interfering with it.

Now, I tend to think that Professor Hawking and the other people studying the universe are EXTREMELY clever people.

However, now David has come up with this gem

Yes I am. I am totally amazed at the Universe. So much so that I cannot conceive of it as being self-existent, or having come from no where and nothing. Therefore I worship its Creator.

MPhil - I have heard something along the line that The Vatican't contains a large collection of nude drawings. This may be conspiracy bollocks or they have been too busy playing with them when the history lessons were being taught, either way they would rather fantasise about history than actually learn anything from it! :)

I am a worshipper of Quetz for a number of good reasons

1. He has DNA and a physical presence on this Earth

2. He has a birth certificate so there is no real questioning of his orgins

3. He performs miracles, he cured an ex girlfriend of mine who had a headache - he blessed a cup of Tea and she was cured - I have witnesses for this and written testimony

4 I have a clear line of communication so any questions regarding his existence or general rules can be sorted out and I don't have to imagine or make presumptions as to what it is he wants of me

I am honestly very sorry to hear about your condition but that was not what I was swearing and ranting at.

I was swearing and ranting at Wooter for his insensitive comments, those comments he made were also directed at you not just me - that you should be thankful to God for your condition and that God has blessed you for it.

Worse still he then said that he would go and pray about it which I find to be just so disgusting I am lost for words. What good is praying going to do to aid your condition, someone with cancer or even my condition? What good is asking the supposed God that, should he exist, had a part in creating all things including disease, bacteria, cancer cells etc?

That's like saying "Well, you did this to me and now I am going to love and thank you for it plus be your obedient slave". Hence the reason why I mentioned Stockholm Syndrome, its like being a hostage to someone who inflicts a great amount of suffering only for the victim to turn around and love them for it.

I don't hate Wooter, I don't know him well enough, I hate what he has been turned into by religion. I won't put up with comments like his, they are just so uncaring and insulting to all of those people struggling just to live in this world.

Wipeout, I hope that, like me, there are real people who care about you and will be there for you should you need them and that you can do the same for. That's proper love, that's proper caring. Trusting a figment of Wooter's imagination, loving it, obeying its impossible and made up commands, knowing, somehow, that his God not only made you this way but you should count it as a blessing and be grateful for it is so horribly wrong - its mental torture. That is not love, that is possibly one of the more evil things you can do or say to somebody.

That is why I swore a lot, I am sick of it all and I want it to stop, people deserve better than that.

I guess I haven't sworn like that in a while but I will not stand by and be told that dying of a horrible disease or having something like I have is a blessing from Wooter's God that I should be thankful for thus increasing my love and worship for him. I will not be told I am being prayed for, that makes it 10 times worse and sickens me that somebody could say and think beyond all doubt its a moral, helpful and respectable thing to do.

Wooter I don't mind your lack of knowledge of Evolution. I don't mind you insisting that your logic outweighs the facts that the colossal geniuses that post on this site show you and you refuse to accept. Its insulting to them but they are big girls and boys who can take care of themselves. But you stepped way over the mark when you posted that complete load of insensitive delusional garbage that I spoke out against.

I hope you at least think about what I have said but I doubt if any of it broke through which both saddens and disgusts me.

WHAT THE FUCK HAVE I GOT TO BE GRATEFUL TO GOD FOR?

I have a disease which fucks up kid's lives for crying out loud, you think I should be happy about this? Do you honestly think its been fun for me in some masochistic way? Do you honestly want to believe that I have enjoyed my past few relationships that have ended in major heart-break over this?

How disingenuous does that sound "Sorry darling, I can't give you the kids you desire because its too dangerous and now that you are really crying cos I have broken your heart, I just want to thank God for blessing me with this disease!"

I said I was coping with it and, despite all this swearing, I am. Its been quite terrible but on the whole I am an optimistic man and I will not let this beat me down. I have acknowledged what damage this can cause and am being as careful as I can - one day I might find someone who does not want kids of their own. I am still living a normal life despite having my own small battles with this disease myself. I have a few learning difficulties here and there, Maths is a complete mystery to me and I sometimes forget what people ask me to do straight after they have asked me. I am lucky I only have a mild form of it. Suffice to say I have had tremendous support from my friends and family who have been there for me, I cant thank them enough. Your god can never be there for me or even you- there is no communication, contact - nothing but what you can imagine - my friends and family are real and I dont have to wish for them to help me, they do this cos they are fucking brilliant people.


What is it with you believers and this fucking stupid incessant need to WANT to suffer? I have said it once and I will say it again, this is Stockholm Syndrome.

You would be doing something so useful and life saving, it would be excellent of you. I feel this way about the good people researching ways to prevent this from happening to other people, they are doing so much good in this world its incredible.

But no, your answer is to sit there with your head up your arse hearing your voice echo in the tunnel, happily breathing in the poisonous and gaseous fumes whilst you are at it. When good people come along to tell you there are better and more helpful ways to end world suffering, you just keep shouting to God louder to drown out the other voices, enjoying the echoes and rejoicing in God's inactivity.

I am insulted to the core by your lack of care and understanding in this matter, I have been as kind as I can up until now but you really let me down when you said this

Thanks for your reply, I think I understand a bit, you reckon that all the suffering humans go through in normal life, it all goes away if you believe in God and end up in Heaven.

Reminds me of something Dr Christopher Hitchens said once in a speech

I find no conciliation in knowing that God did this to me. I have a strange genetic disease called Fragile X, which I was born with and did not develop it later in my life. This basically means if I ever had children, there is a great chance of a female child will be born with the equivalent of Autism and Downs Syndrome mixed together, if its male it could pass him by, it might affect his learning later in life, its not verified in my particular case. I had no choice in this matter, its just life and I am not in the slightest bit bothered by it or looking for a sympathy vote here. I just wanted to give you an example of what Al Rawandi was talking about in his post #250

What I am interested in is this, if your God is so real, why did he create such a disease which at this moment in time has no cure whatsoever and possibly may never be discovered in my lifetime?

I would prefer to blame crap biology if anything but even then I think that's a waste of time, there was no intent or manipulation by anything to make this happen to me - just means I have to be VERY careful not to ever have kids of my own. If your God is real then I would have to assume he did this to me and that does not paint your God in a good light does it? Thank goodness God does not exist!

Odd question, but you must know how odd I am by now :), would you accept a representative from, lets say, The Church of The Flying Spaghetti Monster as a voice of authority when speaking on the same matters as the Pope or Archbishop of Canterbury?

Personally I don't find any of them to be figures of authority simply because the authority they claim to be speaking for cannot be answerable or contacted to verify their position - government officials are answerable to whom they represent because the authorities behind them actually have a voice.

You have proved some small evidence of existence simply by posting on this site. I would bet if arranged properly you and I could meet and have a cup of tea, its possible

If you want to find evidence of evolution, I would invite you over to the Natural History Museum in London and we could go look at the fossils all day, my treat!

But, if I asked you to to arrange a meeting with your God, things are going to get complicated aren't they? I am not mocking you, I am asking you, like a lot of people have asked, to provide some iota of evidence for your God and how to contact him to provide any missing details or misunderstandings.

The bible is not evidence, design is not evidence - I think the ladies and gentlemen on this site have told you enough times about a whole wide range of reasons why your God cannot be included as evidence in all the examples you have given.

Without wanting to sound too sarcastic, you need more than imagination to prove your God exists and works in this universe.

I wish you all the best of luck in that area but please, I urge you to look at the way others have shown you how evolution works and then see if you can provide alternatives that are as verifiable.

Sadly I wake up to find that it is even worse than predicted. Every single one of your disciples (even the 'nice' J) has written in your defence and in so doing has proved my point â€" that those who follow you on this site will make the direct link between the Phelps family and all religion. It was inevitable but nonetheless still disappointing. Just read through their posts and you will see how chilling, inane and sad it all is. And it is your responsibility. You feed them this garbage and they lap it up.

So you will forgive me not exactly feeling enamoured at your using people's suffering to score cheap points. The bottom line is that your friend suffered because someone beat her up â€" not God. So why are you angry at a god you do not believe exists?

I am sorry to see you go I truly am, I am sorry you can't see David for who he truly is - I and several others actually gave David a chance time and time again to actually debate and talk properly. He doesn't want to, prefers to insult people, I am fed up with his lies and distortions plus his lust for a limelight he doesn't deserve. I have spoken to many religious people on this site and on the whole had a good, interesting time - Mark Taunton is a good example, Fides, Revcourt, Brother John to name a few others. Yes we disagreed on loads, possibly hurled a few insults but on the whole it has been peaceful enough. David is the first one to really do his best to go out of his way to be completely monoxious. If he is to say these nasty, incorrect things to people, I know he loves the abuse, then he should expect to be treated as such.

I want you to stay, chat, see if even we can come to some agreement, but don't leave on David's account, he is not worth it

I was once seeing a lovely lady who one day complained of a headache, when I offered her a cup of Tea in the name of Quetz her headache was cured. Please do not doubt the powers and brilliance of the Almighty Quetz, look at what he can do with just Tea! Imagine then what other truly incredible things that He is capable of!
