hes2@usa,
Providing us with a plethora of quotations from Einstein that DO NOT prove that he was a theist will convince no one here of anything (except maybe that you are incorrigible). Most of us are well-versed on arguments both for and against an intelligent being. This is why we choose the latter. I will encourage you (one more time) to please please please learn to look at arguments from BOTH sides with a critical eye. I don't see how anyone could do this and still come to the conclusion that there is a god.

Richard,
I will just remind me of how you scolded me so around Christmas-time when I said that I still sometimes attended church and sang the music. I would argue that sending that bottle of water was just as hypocritical as you accused me of being...
But I do think it was a wonderful gesture.
Diacanu,
I understand that you're a bit of a pessimist, but please do write something and try not to be so down on yourself, if that is indeed what you would like to do. We all enjoy your quips and witty comments here. I imagine that anything you wrote (in length, of course) would have me in stitches were I to get a hold of it. I think it's harder to accomplish something you never really think you'll accomplish.
Steve,
I'm eagerly awaiting your book and the inauguration of Steve Zara day!

hes2@usa,
I fear that you have started with the what the Bible says and only choose to listen to the evidence that supports what the Bible says. I would encourage you to stay away from this line of thinking. The scientific method, if performed correctly, shouldn't have any prejudices and should start only with a hypothesis. If the hypothesis is proved to be incorrect, the scientist performing the experiment would accept this and move on to the next question. There is no "starting with a conclusion" in the scientific method. If you begin to think this way, I think that you'll have a much easier time in life (and on this website).

Of all of the fossils we have found of species that have gone extinct, and the amount of species that are estimated to be going extinct at the present,(some of these creatures being extremely large and requiring some great deal of land/habitat to support a population)how do you propose that the Earth was big enough and had enough resources to support SO MUCH life all at one time?

However, all of this sniveling is bullshit. How the fuck do you think I felt when you called me a "Betty"? How the fuck do you think Steve felt when you said homosexuality was a sin? Don't fucking come here and insult all of us and then whine when people suggest that you may be schizophrenic. That's about the shittiest thing I've ever heard of. I totally agree that they have the rights to the language in England and that their way is probably the correct way. However, here in the U.S., we would be penalized as far as grading and certain things went if we used their rules and not ours. The only reason I said "European" English and not "British" English is just to include those on the site who live in Europe, but not necessarily in Britain. I believe Richard Morgan is one of these. Also, I would imagine that wherever English is used even as a second language in Europe would certainly take on the British characteristics rather than American.
I didn't take offense to anything you said, though.

Richard Morgan, you are correct. I should have said "between" rather than "in". I said that grammar was one of my hobbies. I have definitely made an error or two, or three... At any rate, however, the guy was being a jerk, so I couldn't let his "your" when it should have been "you're" slide. I suppose I need to be brushing up a bit on it. Before I posted here all day, I used to post on the "I judge you when you use poor grammar" page on facebook. If you post on a site like that and don't have flawless grammar, you'll get eaten alive. BAEOZ, there are certain things that are commonly accepted as correct in America that are not correct in Europe and vice versa. The example I gave earlier was that of the period being placed after the quotation mark to end a sentence in Europe, whereas in the U.S., it is normally placed within the quotation marks. It never really made sense to me to put it inside the quotation mark, so I always take the European approach. I think it's probably similar to the differences between how Americans spell certain words and how Europeans spell them. Here, the suffix is -ize and in Europe it's -ise.

Yes, Tyler, there tend to be discrepancies in European English and American English, but I figured I'd let him slide on that one since it is still considered correct, if only part of the time. Also, just to point out "Just for the record" is a strange phrase to start that particular sentence with. Normally, when someone says "just for the record" they then follow it up with some sort of a statement of their personal feelings or some sort of fact. I find it quite odd that he followed it up with a question. Although, I suppose that if you were a reporter, it would be an appropriate thing to say if you had been previously speaking "off the record". (Also, notice that I like to put my period outside the quotation marks as most do in Europe)
