51. Prayer to feed the hungry

Comment #190238 by robotaholic on June 8, 2008 at 3:27 pm

hey I know, instead of praying for food...christians could always eat christ's flesh and blood? - g no thx I'd rather starve - wow christianity is a disgusting bronze age myth

52. Couple charged in Norway over genital mutilation of daughters

Comment #190236 by robotaholic on June 8, 2008 at 3:24 pm

the fact that they actually cut off the genitals of babies needs to be highlighted - I constantly hear about this and it's not as insane sounding as it used to be/should be - we should stop this in every country - I can't believe that without religion any barbaric practice as this would have ever gotten started -

Man I despise, detest, hate, oppose, am revulsed, am malevolent towards, loathe, dislike, and can't stand religion.

55. John McCain: America a Christian nation, needs Christian president

Comment #190164 by robotaholic on June 8, 2008 at 1:23 pm

hey at least this guy completed one term as senator - the other person running hasn't even done that - they're both equally religious - in fact if you were objective about this you would vote for Mccain because he has more experience in general - in the senate, in the wartime -I wish this website moderator would be equally objective-

10 bux says that the tide changes and obama doesn't even try to get our troops out of iraq anytime soon - he comes off to me like a lot of hot air -

as far as gay marriage - obama and mccain are equally against it - so therefore I am not voting for either one!- I'm not a 2nd rate citizen, I don't deserve to be treated as seperate but equal - i feel like when it comes to marriage I should be just as entitled to that WORD as anyone else

57. Holiday in Hellmouth

Comment #189901 by robotaholic on June 7, 2008 at 1:43 pm

if you think about it objectively, you sort of have to treat those 'healing' stories in a similar way to alien abduction stories-

oh why can't this world be logical, objective, and honest with itself?

58. Reality wins in Texas!

Comment #189897 by robotaholic on June 7, 2008 at 1:38 pm

It's a shame that reality even has to do BATTLE! - it's insane that the religious think there is a massive conspiracy headed by SATAN to convince ppl of evolution - when I said insane - I mean INSANE - who would have thought that reality needed defending (that's a quote from Point of Inquiry-which I love) anyway I am happy about this - because Texas has so many teachers and school children and it's close to Oklahoma where I live-

59. The day of judgment

Comment #189667 by robotaholic on June 6, 2008 at 11:49 pm

perhaps we glimpse here something in our nature, something of our deeply held notions of time, and our own insignificance against the intimidating vastness of eternity, or the age of the universe - on the human scale there is little difference. We have need of a plot, a narrative to shore up our irrelevance in the flow of things.
- this was right on and totally beautiful

60. A word for nonbelievers

Comment #189666 by robotaholic on June 6, 2008 at 11:41 pm

they sooooooooooooo totally only fear us because we HAVE SOMETHING!

61. The Expelled Evolutionist

Comment #189148 by robotaholic on June 5, 2008 at 2:34 pm

in response to Pathfinder - science is science and religion is CRAP-

Quite frankly, as an atheist I'm amazed at a number of your fellow christians.

If teachers have the right to teach what they believe is "right", without evidence, just based on instinct and conviction ( "the best lack all conviction, the worst are full of passionate intensity" - WB Yeats ) then by the same logic it is perfectly acceptable to aver women, ethnic minorities, homosexuals and people who work on the Sabbath (see Exodus) should be punished and even killed. It's this inconsistency which really gets me.

well hmm let's just leave that up to the preachers/priests -right

62. Character Attacks: How to Properly Apply the Ad Hominem

Comment #187806 by robotaholic on June 2, 2008 at 5:51 pm

so a non ad hominem attack like "you're not as experienced as I am to be president" or "at least I've completed ONE term as Senator" would carry more wight than an ad hominem attack such as "I personally don't like you even though you may be a good leader and be able to get things done"- at least I voted logically

63. The Challenge of the New Creationism

Comment #187514 by robotaholic on June 2, 2008 at 9:20 am

honestly I have Opera and I have never had a single bit of problem with any of these links on this website - this one plays fine just like the rest- & it's very orange-

65. Karma comedians

Comment #186738 by robotaholic on May 31, 2008 at 8:34 am

Sharon Stone doesn't really believe that stuff...- I think it was mostly failed humor/mistake:

It was only after reviewing the video in her home toward the end of the interview that it seemed to dawn on Ms. Stone why her comments had caused such an uproar. “I had absolutely no intention of saying that, which I did say,” she said, “and now, looking at it on the tape, I look like a complete ding-dong.”

I've misspoke before (many times for sure) and I don't think she REALLY thinks 68,000 people deserved to die and she's totally regretful and embarrassad...

Ariane Sherine needs to lighten up and calm down.

66. Teacher tortures, kills boy

Comment #186734 by robotaholic on May 31, 2008 at 8:25 am

"you will learn this religion of peace or I will kill you!" - great

67. Senate bill allows display of Lord's Prayer, 10 Commandments

Comment #186540 by robotaholic on May 30, 2008 at 2:39 pm

hey it's not so bad in your state, in our state we had a penis-pump judge - he would pump away during court trials and ppl could hear the pump-pump-pump sound and only sickenly look at each other ??? - but yeah about this mess with the 10 commandments- doesn't it take just one judge to say it's unconstitutional and then if it's not overturned - this bill is out

69. Town moves against Islamic school

Comment #184960 by robotaholic on May 26, 2008 at 2:39 pm

where does anybody get the idea that this is racism? - they use the word MUSLIM not arabs - so it's not racism - in fact it's retarded to have a religious school in the first place - school should just teach the same thing for anyone or at least they should be equal and fair to all kids

71. Animal Science Without Evolution

Comment #184616 by robotaholic on May 25, 2008 at 8:55 pm

this is disgusting - i hate this tremendously

i am a victim of religious indoctrination and i was told lies regarding evolution- i hate to see any other person go through that

72. Sun's properties not 'fine-tuned' for life

Comment #184170 by robotaholic on May 23, 2008 at 8:23 pm

I remember when I was much younger sitting in church (the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses) and hearing ppl say "if the earth were a tiny bit closer or if it were any farther away, life would not be possible - so therefore it's obvious god put it exactly in the right spot for life-

I used to think - mountains are miles closer to the sun and valleys are much farther from the sun as well as the fact that the orbit of the earth around the sun is not perfectly round- so there are variations in the earth's proximity to the sun - but my father, mother, friends - noone would listen to me -

now I am just shocked that there could be any people as scientifically illiterate (deliberately!) as jehovah's witnesses-

if any of you people are ex-jw's - you have my congrats!

76. Proving ID is Creationism

Comment #183215 by robotaholic on May 21, 2008 at 2:14 pm

I'm amazed there are people who have weighed the evidence and don't believe in evolution.

78. God and Science Collide in Nation's Capital

Comment #182259 by robotaholic on May 19, 2008 at 2:27 pm

I think science is all there is. There are NOT other ways of knowing. In fact, I'll believe in other ways of knowning once it's shown to me that they exist -and I will subject them to the scientific method :))

79. Richard Dawkins Responds to Rabbi Shmuley Boteach

Comment #181889 by robotaholic on May 18, 2008 at 3:38 pm

I watched the hour long debate between Christopher Hitchens and Boteach and all Boteach sounded like to me was an arguing jewish dude- he just wanted to talk about jewish stuff constantly instead of the fact of the matter of the existence of a god/gods...He did get very loud and almost screamed several times, he openly slandered Christopher Hitchens and then claimed character assasination when he was the one doing all the name calling and mischaracterizing. He really got on my nerves and would just spew tons of white noise which was composed of nonsubstantiated claims about how god is like this and like that - needless to say I got a headache after hearing him and before it was over my head was killing me. He's a little worm- needs to be marginalized and ignored if you ask me. Also of course, he's not very reputible if you read Dawkin's link. I have wasted too many words on him already-

Clearmind - we should cut a check to your large intestine since it's the only thing doing any work around here.

80. Richard Dawkins Responds to Rabbi Shmuley Boteach

Comment #181646 by robotaholic on May 17, 2008 at 6:58 pm

hahah, whenever I feel down, I like to listen to a good atheist vs religions zombie debate - the atheist always wins which cheers me up and I also get to see the bible/koran thumper get demolished- so it's a PLUS PLUS!

81. Richard Dawkins Responds to Rabbi Shmuley Boteach

Comment #181638 by robotaholic on May 17, 2008 at 6:42 pm

This reminds me of something really cool that I never realized about Richard Dawkins- in fact all the "new atheists" - they dont' SCREAM and YELL to try to convince you of their position - they calmly evicerate the religious position - Hitch is the only one who may get a tad heated but I think that might be from the scotch lol

83. Richard Dawkins Interview on TVOntario

Comment #181289 by robotaholic on May 16, 2008 at 8:52 pm

wow, I really adore Richard Dawkins - he was fantastic on this interview and he's so patient and he's a generally plesant guy!- he says "you don't believe in faeries do you?" - I thought - well hmm, I'm a faerie...better believe in me. hahaha - Serdan you are dead on, I totally agree with you 100% -

84. Malaysia woman scores rare legal win to quit Islam

Comment #181012 by robotaholic on May 16, 2008 at 9:34 am

wow, that whole place sounds alien to me - you HAVE to be a certain religion to get married? or you have to ask the country if you can stop being some religion? - what in the world?!?-

Islamic courts in the mainly Muslim nation rarely allow Muslims to convert to other religions.

non-Muslims must convert to Islam before they can legally marry a Muslim.

Wow that place is FUCKED UP

Tezcatlipoca lol, I'm gonna have some pepperoni pizza (can you imagine not having pepperoni??)
-I guess Little Ceaser's had better not open up in Malaysia- they wont do to well there lol

85. 'Framing Science' and The Dawkins Effect

Comment #180798 by robotaholic on May 15, 2008 at 8:17 pm

87. Vatican: It's OK to believe in aliens

Comment #179788 by robotaholic on May 13, 2008 at 6:28 pm

But he said he continues to believe that "God is the creator of the universe and that we are not the result of chance."

-Chance- that ugly word rears it's head yet again - I wish someone would explain to this man that evolution through natural selection is just about the opposite of chance.

88. 'My daughter deserved to die for falling in love'

89. I Am Evolution

Comment #178571 by robotaholic on May 11, 2008 at 3:56 pm

I think the point of her essay was to show that evolution is correct. It also seems perfectly logical that if you asked an anthropologist if they believe in evolution that they would say yes. There is nothing wrong with this paper and also I enjoyed it. -Some people are just argumentative and difficult...

Half the people objecting to the word "believe" in this paper would not object if used in the context of quantum physics: "I believe in quantum physics."- I can't imagine someone objecting: "Quantum physics is not something to believe in- it's something to accept"-

Like I said, people should just not be so uptight!

(besides she's really really pretty lol http://www.personal.psu.edu/hmd120/ )

92. Scientists Know Better Than You--Even When They're Wrong

Comment #177858 by robotaholic on May 9, 2008 at 8:47 pm

If you see the space shuttle crashing, you can see that these guys in the white coats don't always get it right.
that sentence makes me sad -

oh and ambymacula:
What could make you more competent to argue against creationism than a background in evolutionary biology?
- That was AWESOME! -

93. Atheists are nice people who will roast in hell, says Cardinal
