Comment #12516 by Thrall on December 12, 2006 at 10:48 am
Well, I think that a unicorns horn spirals counterclockwise if they are male, and clockwise if they are female. However, if the male unicorn is evil, it's horn will spiral clockwise, and turn counterclockwise half-way up. If you touch an evil unicorn you will turn into a unicorn yourself. Unicorns want me to be miserable like them, so evil unicorns are always trying to get me to touch them (even though they are invisible and pink). So, because I know about what the horn looks like on evil unicorns, the evil ones won't come near me, and I am saved!
(Can we please get off the subject of the intracacies of God said this, and then said this it seems a bit futile. I've never heard god say anything, there's no proof of god ever speaking, so leave it be. The bible was written by humans, and until there is proof otherwise, i'll continue to argue about unicorns_)

Over at onegoodmove.org, there is a Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson interview with Julia Sweeney, where Craig says "God can't show himself, or else there wouldn't be faith". It's an interesting interview, and the audience reations are goodl

54. The Atheist Delusion: a pisspoor presentation

David Robertson:
"Ok - stand back and wait for the typical atheist response - you xxxxx! Go back to your fundie hole - dumb, ignorant! What about Michah 5:2 then! Where did Cain and Abel get their wifes! Why did you kill all those witches! Who made God then?!"
and "who in the athiest fishbowl can come up with an original thought" (or something to that effect)
Well Mr robertson, the reason you keep getting the same responses, is because you keep asking the same question. You cannot criticize someone for saying "the bible is wrong here and here" and then call them "an athiest in a fishbowl"
Look closer at that fishbowl, the free thinking athiests can believe anything, while christians are pointing to god (whatever that is) and yelling that becauase I can't disprove a negative, that i'm close-minded.
Just think for a second, about fishbowls and close mindedness before you start pointing fingers at the fish swimming in the ocean and not the bowl.

Oh man, you are starting to make me mad. Athiest Composers (either agnostic, pantheistic, or otherwise not bible believing christains) as follows:
Beethoven (pantheistic)
Bjork
Brahms (agnostic)
Dead Kennedys (obviously)
Ani DeFranco (again)
Danny Elfman (composer)
Brian Eno
John Lennon
Johnny Rotten
Nick Mason (pink floyd)
Dave Matthews (Ha! like the troll on these boards)
Mozart (freemason)
Trent Reznor (NIN, Obvious athiest "god is dead, and no one cares. If there is a hell, i'll see you there")
Tool (duh)
Roger Waters (pf)
Now a christian will argue that most of the modern bands who are "athiest" don't write "great music". I would argue against this.
Don't tell ME that my religion has anything to do with my musical talent. What, do you believe in Muse's now? Do i have to worship Zeus so i can be inspired by my muse? How pompous of you.
Maybe all of those X-Tian bands who are writing middle of the road music that is bland and uninspired should BLAME GOD for writing shi**y songs.

Let me just say this. If god exists, he didn't write the bible (due to the innacuracies, and god is infallable, he either wrote it himself, or gave it to a human to write, and that human wrote it wrong, in which god had an error in judgement about who should write it, therefore, bible:innacurate::god:innacurate). So if god didn't write the bible, then why should I worship him and call him god?

@ryuile:
Hell doesn't exist? Says who? Don't some people who read the bible say it exists? How can you two people reading the same book get 2 different interpretations, and then live your life by the "word"? Just curious.

Ok, Seanboy, if you can see how a dolphin with 4 fins can happen.. follow this thinking...
An animal lays eggs. One animal in this species gets a genetic defect that allows that animal to give life birth, therefore decreasing the number of eggs that are destroyed (mobility helps save the offspring). So, now this mutation gives rise to a lot of children with a lot of the same "defect" that is allowing for live birth. All of the sudden, this animal thrives and either
A) Replaces the original animal due to lack of food or
B) Co exist and become two varied species.
Now, we have 2 species. This can happen within the span of 150 years, which is amazingly fast for such a mutation.
This is the major component of evolution. Why do you have such a problem with it?
61. A man who believes in Darwin as fervently as he hates God

The fact that the author of this article has a hard time with "moral relativity throughout time" shows us a lot. Will your great-grandparents go to hell because they had slaves? Will your great-great-grandfather go to hell because he raped or killed his wife for cheating on him. These things were perfectly acceptable and legal at the time (marital rape was legal in the state of Utah, US until 1989.)
How can this not be seen as a shifting moral ambiguity?
This author also leads the reader down mental paths by quoting the first part of his questions, editing in his personal note, then gives dawkins response, to paint dawkins in the worst possible light. I think it's deceptive and a jerk thing to do.
And on the "surpassing our genes" (at the end of the interview) subject that Dawkins has addressed before (but apperently this guy didn't want to print Dawkins responses), I mean, doesn't that break down to Cultural Darwinism? Didn't we get thoughts and freetime by the invention of agriculture, which lead to time to think? Am I up in the night on this?
I can think for myself, and I think that I don't have the means to afford a child, so I use contraception. The species has no dire need to propogate anymore. Most of the birthrates are fairly high in most countries. Back when the Infant mortality rate was 90%, nobody was talking about contraception.

Soon, you'll hear Bill O' talking about this soon enough, saying how it's "british secular-progressives" that are "censoring" science. You watch. I'll be right. It's a good thing nobody listens to him anymore, and everyone is starting to listen to keith olbermann.

I love the outrage of the scientist when the mediator suggests that Darwin is a simple "theory". That's exactly how I feel every day when arguing about proof of god and intelligent design. "Show me proof!"
I hate to say this, but my wife and I think that religous people have blinders on, and cannot comprehend the information given to them about evolution, either due to their religous upbringing or pure daftness.
