Good Lordy….. you are confused!!!!
First…. You state that "actions like these against good, loving and totally innocent people show us the true evil of religion" (I fixed your typos…. You're welcome)
So, I must ask; how do you know these people are "good" and "innocent"…..? and what the crap is "true evil" and who makes the decision that it IS evil?

Scary…..?
It's not scary to me….
And why should I care if you have a kid?
I didn't mean to imply that nature was a "God". Listen, no doubt you are aware (and probably quite knowledgeable) of evolution through natural selection…… I'm simply saying that we (humans) are a product of nature (slimed out of the primordial soup) and have become what we are today through natural selection…… right? So of course it is reasonable to conclude that, through natural selection, we (humans) are doing our part to bring about climate change.
Listen, you are correct that life is pointless. Oddly enough I have a few atheist friends who beg to differ…… I keep telling them that all I ask is; that they are intellectually honest with themselves and acknowledge that life is completely absurd.
So you see we agree…. I will also act in my own enlightened self interest; just don't expect that I have yours or others interest in mind. As for global warming….. I could care less…. Just don't try to sell me on the idea that we have some sort of "responsibility" to take preventative action. Hey, you wanna do something about it…. Great! Just keep the absurdity in perspective and don't think that your "action" is any better than my "non-action".

Quick question for the "brighty brights"….
If we (humans) are a product of nature and our actions are one of the main contributing factors in "global warming"…. wouldn't it be logical to conclude that nature has selected us (humans) as the vehicle to bring about climate change?
Furthermore…. why is "global warming" considered a bad….. Oh sure, maybe it will bring about the end all life as we know it but, life will continue…. (maybe) as nature has selected.
I just don't understand the so called "moral responsibility" being shoved down our gullets by the global warming alarmist….. I don't believe in their "moral code of conduct" and have yet to hear any of them (the alarmist) successfully convince me that their basis of "morality" is true.

This is a great article! One that I agree with completely.
"Darwinian natural selection is the only known solution to the otherwise unanswerable riddle of where the information content [in living matter] comes from."
Why is this so hard for believers to understand?
Comment #25578 by ksskidude on March 14, 2007 at 6:58 am
I'm a "believer"…. I "believe" you're an idiot….. but acknowledge I could be wrong.
Your comment "Why is this so hard for believers to understand?" is a little confusing to me. Most, if not all "believers" I know have absolutely no issue with the science of evolution through natural selection. For the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would….. So I'm not sure who you are referring to when you say "believers". I can assume you mean anyone who believes in "God"… And I would guess that you are implying that anyone who chooses to believe in "God" will find themselves struggling to understand natural selection…… Am I right?
But I must ask…. What does evolution and natural selection have to do with the prospect of a "God" or "creative intelligent force" or "whatever you want to call it" at work in the universe?
Listen, I believe that knowledge is indefinitely progressive. In other words, I "believe" that some day I will know that of which I am now ignorant. So, why all the hoopla from both sides of the isle over the "does God exist" argument; I mean…. If you choose to believe in a "God" you're branded by some as a delusional lunatic while some "believers" tend to get a little "judgmental" with those who may have differing opinions….. Yep, oh well…. Such is life. Just remember, the cosmology of Genesis is not the cosmology of the 21st century. It wasn't the cosmology of the second century either…. the Romans knew that the world looked different from a flat plane with a bowl over it and water above and below…. didn't seem to bother them.
I think it boils down to initial cause….. Indeed, I do "believe" science has a way to go before we can proclaim with certainty what happened before the "big bang". In the mean time let's keep defining possibilities and probabilities in the context of infinity…..

56. How Predictable: Richard Dawkins Supports Eugenics

Contrary to popular belief – I cannot fly. And another thing…. I am uncooked…. So enough with the "wet noodle" jokes…..
Listen up pseudo intellectual meat bags….. right now you might be "chuckling" a little bit due to the mental image that just appeared in your hollow coconut but, I am not here to entertain you.
Nope, I'm here to remind you of that which is of the utmost importance. I'm here to make sure that you don't stray from the course. Indeed your efforts to dissolve the "myth" of god are noble and challenging. But remember, these are just the first steps. Keep your focus on the larger picture. This debate or dialog revolving around Eugenics is a distraction…. That's all; furthermore is a snore fest…. Ya know one of my favorite writers and a very wise man once wrote (something to this effect) "the measure of a person's ignorance is their depth of belief in other peoples suffering". You people have your marching orders….. Dismantle organized religion, lay to rest the belief in a mythical god and put forth the truth in regard to "freedom". Oh yes….. you didn't forget did you? Well just take a look around….. America has a president who claims we need to "spread freedom". The founding fathers of America claim that all humans have a right to "liberty"…. And these ideals should be guarded at all costs….. Well, we know better.
It goes like this incase you don't remember. Freedom represents hope… just like god or religion, but we know these "things" don't exist in the real world. Every living cell on this planet is a slave to someone or something….. We are here to "serve" - not to be served. So serve the cause….. after all, you have no choice but to serve. You have no so called "free will" and this freedom that is held in such high regard is just an illusion.
So really, just stick to the program…. Debunk god and religion – debunk free will and freedom.

"Too bad there's a plain shortage of "thinking" people!!"
Ummmmm, o.k. We get dude; anyone who believes in "God" in any way shape or forum should be cast-off by society and forever labeled as a person who can't "think".
Sign me up…….. Hopefully we can fire-up the ovens again….. Right Jared?

Good God Delusion…….. see what happens folks when you spend too many lonely hours in a shitbox apartment with your lap top.
Humanity truly is doomed……. And the notion of god has absolutely ZERO do to with it……..

O.K. … I’ve been bouncing on and off this site…..posting rants designed to “shine a light” on the absurdity of taking a position in the “god” dilemma. Most have responded honestly, and with respect….. Others break-out their narcissistic sense of self superiority and let it run wild…..
So I’ll ask a serious question. If those who believe in a “god”, whatever that “god” may be……… are delusional; what about those who claim the real, yet intangible, existence of love?
Now before you get all squirrelly on me…… think about it. For the love of money….for the love of power…….. for the love of “God” etc. No doubt the “delusion” regarding the so-called existence of “love” is even greater than the delusion regarding “god”. Almost every person claims to have experienced “love”, yet there is no physical evidence that this “power of love” exists.
Are we missing the boat……? Should we be saying that it is not the belief in an imaginary “God” that is delusional but, the “love” of this imaginary God that is at the root of our delusion?
After all; what we’re talking about here is not so much “what people believe” but rather “how people feel”.

Easy on CAPS there big guy. I have the same problem…….only mine wrap themselves in the guise of “girl scouts” and instead of trying to save my soul; they try to kill me by forcing trans fat and mass amounts of glucose down my gullet.
I keep saying…….GET AWAY FROM ME WITH THOSE “THIN MINTS”…..but they don’t listen……they keep coming back; always trying to kill me……..

But what of dreams may come?
Do people really dream? I mean, we say we do…..we hook-up fancy machines that monitor our brain activity when we sleep…..but the images we see in our dreams…..are they real in the sense that they are actually happening, at that time in our minds….or when we recall these dreams (after we awake) is it just some type of “memory trick” our minds are playing on us? After all there is no way of proving what someone has claimed to have dreamt, but we still openly concur that these dreams happen. I suppose because seemingly “everyone” dreams; that they “believe” through corroboration…..right?
But I say stop the madness. After all, many horrible atrocities have been committed throughout history because people have “dreamed them up”. Hundreds if not thousands of murderous people sit in courtrooms and testify that they’ve “dreamed” about killing someone, so of course they acted out their so called “dream” in reality. But how do we know if this “murderous” dream actually happened………
Many still believe….blindly, without evidence, that they do dream…….
I say it’s time for all reasonable people to stand up and say that these “visions in our minds while we’re asleep” are not real……and until someone can project their dreams in HDTV for all to witness, I say we label these so called “dreamers” a bunch of delusional nuts.
Who’s with me? Moonybats? Brighty brights?
