53. The atheist delusion

Comment #144096 by MrPickwick on March 15, 2008 at 4:45 am

Of course this whole article is full of s***, no question about it. But it is exactly what people who want to believe, but are not used to think for themselves, need to go on believing: An "intelligent" guy, from a "respected" newspaper, quoting poets and philosophers (out of context) and providing "arguments" that support their view of the world. This kind of "intellectuals" are the real enemies. Let them play the flute and a huge herd will follow them. Who cares about truth.

I am afraid that nobody, not even guys like Dawkins, Hitchens, etc, can compete with The Pied Piper of Hamelin.

54. I don't believe in atheists

"I don't believe in atheists"

Well, you know, atheists don't care at all whether you believe in them or not. That is the main difference between atheists and believers.

55. Bishop accuses gays of 'conspiracy' against the Catholic Church

The pious bishop is understandably mad at Mckellen because he vandalizes hotel bibles as a hobby.

57. Beauty ad banned after Christian outcry

All these comments are great but you all seem to miss the point... What we should find out is whether the praying thing worked or not? (and, now that I think of it, if it does work, what's the use of whatever the ghd firm is selling?) It's so confusing...

58. Richard Dawkins' US Tour begins this week

Humble suggestion to admins:
Could you please create a special wooter channel? I think he deserves it. He is too intelligent for us (I have a real hard time understanding his sofisticated train of thought). It is clear that nobody here is able to refute his clever and original arguments and his amazingly flawless logic. His wise words could surely brighten the darkest night. And its obvious that RD.net is too insignificant for his powerful intellect. Please admins, get lovely wooter (aka: clearmind [lol]) a private channel.

59. Seven new deadly sins: are you guilty?

This is getting quite confusing... at least I can still wear my lovely Prada shoes without going to hell... or maybe not..

"In addition to designer sunglasses, the Pope has favoured padded quilt jackets, jumpsuits, baseball caps and red Prada shoes, contrasting with the worn, brown, slip-on loafers which his predecessor was wearing when his body was laid out in state after his death earlier this year."

60. Don't blame Islam for terrorism, expert says

Leopold II killed several million people in Congo. Although his main goal was money and power he used religion as an aliby whenever he could to justify his deeds. He was a devout roman catholic and when he died he was interred at the Church of Our Lady in Brussels. When he was having financial difficulties, while murdering african people, he asked the Pope to help him on the grounds that what he was doing in Africa was "spreading the word of God among infidels". He also hired the famous explores Stanley, the same guy that was very proud of having taught the King of Uganda the 10 commandments and also converted him to christianity (It was found later that the King only accepted the conversion after Stanley told him there was another commandment, number 11, that stated that Kings should be respected and obeyed because their power was given by God).

Maybe religion is not the main cause but it surely helps... A LOT!

62. Hitchens and Boteach Debate on God

This amazing Boteach guy should go to Iraq and debate there. It looks like there is plenty of room for "intellectuals" of his level there. Proof? Watch!:

63. Debate between Richard Dawkins and Madeline Bunting

Comment #128835 by MrPickwick on February 18, 2008 at 4:02 am

Spiritual truth, metaphor, meaning of belief, kinds of truth, emotional truth, of course we are all X but,...

It's a shame to witness what intelligent people do when they are afraid to face reality.

Anybody knows what are the particular terms violated?

Why debate with this ignoramus and give him credibility? Just follow Dawkins advice and avoid these loonies!
