Mphil
If moral values are not just human where the fuck do they come from and how can they be justified in any way.
The dictionary definition of morality no matter how old was written by humans.
AS someone who believes animals as mere "agents" I am suprised Mphil you see anything in intrinsic morality. unless the soul exists.

my suggestion that man is entitled to his free will is no more than a belief that i have no control over him nor do i wish to exact such control. Morality is an illusion, to me at least.

Why does it say a lot that I would excuse it,Worset.
I am a great believer in free will.
I do not believe everyone should be asked to support everyone elses favourite cause as a matter of course, why do you?
(Although I have also had a lot of lesbian friends ,including my sister, whose sexuality seems to change with the wind(that is all of them, not just my sister). But if I am not towing the atheist line I will leave immediately.)

I believe what bernstein is saying is he doesn't care either way. I bet everyone here has many issues which though deeply important to others and also considered a matter of morality, they have no opinion on whatsoever.

In my first year I had to share a room in a hall of residence, so alas bollocks, as attractive as it sounds it was not an option.
The next few years I shared houses with engineering, economics, physics and philosophy students.
Wanking in my room was not necessary but also not prohibited, so i occasionally indulged but not to such a degree that it affected my social life.
Thanks for the support Corylus, but I am sure it was just a gentle leg pull from bollocks.

Is there actually any written evidence from the time of Mithras (or whichever god) worship that they have a virtually identical life story as Jesus.
I have yet to see any. A couple of statues of some bloke wearing a bobble hat and killing an ox with a scorpion and a dog hanging around doesn't immedeatily bring the life of Jesus to mind to me.
So many people take this as true without evidence simply because, like me, they would love to believe it.
I would love to see convincing sources of these fables.
