52. Answers To the Atheists

Comment #30238 by firemancarl on April 7, 2007 at 10:17 am

he said
In " The Last Week," their book about Christ's final days on Earth, Marcus J. Borg and John Dominic Crossan, distinguished liberal scriptural scholars, write: "He attracted a following and took his movement to Jerusalem at the season of Passover. There he challenged the authorities with public acts and public debates. All this was his passion, what he was passionate about: God and the Kingdom of God, God and God's passion for justice. Jesus' passion got him killed."

So lemme get this straight. Gods passion for justice was to litteraly hang his son( or himself) out to dry? No free pass? Maybe he thinking was "Hey everyone! Check this out. To show what a mensch I am , i'm gonna let my son be strung up. You're all welcome!"

And that folks is why my kids and I hunt rabbits on Easter. Ya know, the chocolate ones.

53. Militant atheists: too clever for their own good

Comment #30236 by firemancarl on April 7, 2007 at 10:11 am

Funny innit? This is starting to become the same 'ol argument against athiests. Their elitest, smarmy, or militant. I wonder if the writer fashions himself a "christian" and is looking for a means to subvert a growing ( I hope ) trend that people are beginning to question their faith.

Is it too much to ask that we have proof of the supposed miracles that take place in the bible? Why are we 'militant" when we point out that their is no honest scientific proof of any of the said miracles. I am beginning to think that we are upsetting the proverbial apple cart and people need it to cling to "hope".

Like Prof. Dawkins says " I suspect and injection of morphine would be comforting...."

Corylus
"Athiest with tits" that is fracking fantastic! haha!

54. Atheists Take On Religion

Sad, sad, sad. The other day my 6 year old daughter came home from Kindergarten, and was telling me that one of her friends was telling her about going to hell. It took a half hour to calm her down and convince her that there is no such thing. Even the youth of the US is being warped. Lets hope this "firecracker in the forest " changes some things!

55. Neil deGrasse Tyson - Death by Black Hole

I like watching Dr Tyson when he is on the Discovery Science Channels astronomy shows on Tuesday night. Maybe a lot has to do with the fact that he is energetic and is up beat when he talks about his field.
