Pathfinder-
comparing Dr Benway to Harold Shipman is an extremely cheap shot. I hope there will be no more insults in that vein.
I think that alone should clear up any lingering thoughts in anyone's minds that I or Brian might have been Pathfinder.
On a separate note-
thanks very much to everyone who has left comments about my report, both here and on my blog. It's much appreciated.

I've now finished my report on last night's visit by David Robertson (AKA Clearthinker/Wee Flea) to my tranquil home town. Since it's quite long, I've provided a link to it on my blog rather than post it here in its entirety. Let me know what you think.

Comment #145132 by Quetzalcoatl on March 17, 2008 at 9:42 am
Compare and contrast this:
exposing atheism more as a bundle of sentiments than a coherent doctrine
Every child has felt a shiver of God as night closes and the world grows quiet. Adults, amid the bustle and din, know he's there. When trouble comes, we whisper his name. We cannot see, hear, or yet walk with him. But from time to time we experience a presence that defies description. The God of love is also the God of surprise.

Comment #145110 by Quetzalcoatl on March 17, 2008 at 9:12 am
Atheism cannot reach our hearts. A rigorous atheist cannot console in a time of grief, cannot explain love, cannot sigh in happy wonder at life's endless surprises. He can only utter, "What is, is."

you've mentioned the missing 300 posts. I think the reason for this was because at that time the site was transferred onto a bigger server, and some posts got lost in the transfer. It wasn't just on your thread, a similar number disappeared from another large thread I was posting on at the time. Just one of those things, I think, there was no intention behind it.

First Book of Quetzalcoatl, Chapter 63:
1) And so it was that the irate atheist petitioned the great god Quetzalcoatl to render judgement upon the substance known as Bovril.
2) The winged serpent didst look upon the substance, and proclaimed it to be good.
3) He spake thusly: "I grant my favour upon Bovril, being that it is known as the original beef tea. By consuming this beverage, all honour my divine majesty.
4) But lo, let the Bovril enthusiasts not forget the need for consumption of true tea. The great god Quetzalcoatl looks favourably upon those that honour him by consuming his most favoured beverage".
5) As it was decreed, so shall it be.

There's a little more to it than this, since tea is the officially beatified drink of the great god Quetzalcoatl, (who, as you may have noticed, graces us with his presence and his posts from time to time) and therefore carries considerable spiritual significance on this site for some posters. For some reason I just had a hunch that Calcanei puppa may have strong feelings on the subject too! (Perhaps I'm psychic.)

The fact is that people have sex. It's what we do. By advocating condoms in Aids-ravaged areas, it helps to prevent more people getting the disease. It's not about foisting ideology, it's about saving lives.

Quetz, Anna. We have actually had a bit of a breakthrough with David. He has admitted that we may not be able to know what moral absolutes are. I think this is a big step forward (do I sound ironic here?), as it means he accepts that it is possible that we do simply make our own way in the world morally.
