Whatever anyone comes up with, it has to be totally legal. No throwing rotten fruit, no abuse, no blocking of people or cars...
Damn. So that means no use of the Hitchens Enema Kit(TM) with the optional Matchbox?

Indeed. Yet isn't it strange how they rely upon the results of rational science to extend their lives in order that they defer going to their particular heaven whilst poo-pooing some of its most fundamental observations about the universe?

(I am, of course making a small exception for suicide bombers who may, nonetheless, be disappointed when they discover that the '72 virgins' promise is a mistranslation and they're greeted by six dozen Richard Branson lookalikes, all promising faster broadband and more reliable train services.)

Did you see the study where they found cricket can induce comas?
Well, if you're going to head the ball instead of catching it, that would be a possible outcome.

I hope you understand the LBW rules as well. Personally I think them particularly unfair for left-handed orthodox spinners as regards the strictly 'not-out' subsection of the rule when pitching outside leg stump. What is your opinion?

A good way to think of ID is as "continous Creationism".
A misprint methinks. Surely, "continuous Cretinism", is more appropriate?

Sounds like a slippery bastard to me. If you do meet him, I wouldn't trust him if I were you.

By your premise, he sits back in his armchair, does fuck all about anything bad going on and wants to take the credit for everything good. Sounds just like my boss, really. Perhaps that what he is - just a crap boss who wants to hide away in the corner and appears only when there's a pat on the back to be had. Not much of a God, really, wouldn't you agree?

Please, tell us what this enormous evidence is so they we can judge for ourselves.

This is pure speculation. You have no idea what is going on inside the brain of the said chimp.
Nor have you - directly. However, studies have been done on this sort of behaviour and the results are very human-like.

And yet you would claim that any 'moral' behaviour by the beast could only be as a result of magical programming by an eternal rule-maker? It's not like they've been studying the Sermon on the Mount, old chap. They don't even seem to have a wealth of ancient stone tablets to rely upon for guidance in such matters.

However, there is an exception if your brother dies without having had a son. In that case, a man is obligated to impregnate his widowed sister-in-law to give his dead brother a son, who becomes the brother's heir. Deuteronomy 25:5-10 describes a way for the brother to decline this responsibility, but presumably at the time of the story of Onan, that legal mechanism wasn't known. - ADH
...The question is: what exactly does this mean? Religious leaders have advanced different interpretations over the centuries, mostly to justify societal mores.

It's often difficult to establishing what sex practices various writers meant because they used euphemisms--there wasn't a technical sexual vocabulary until fairly recently. Also, the authors of commentaries didn't want to give readers ideas by being too explicit--the "above all, don't put beans in your ear!" syndrome.

The earliest interpretations were straightforward... -ADH

As ever, we come to the only logical and reasonable conlusion based on the evidence placed before us:
Thus the mildest criticism of religion is also the most radical and the most devastating one. Religion is man-made. Even the men who made it cannot agree on what their prophets or redeemers or gurus actually said or did. Still less can they hope to tell us the "meaning" of later discoveries and developments which were, when they began, either obstructed by their religions or denounced by them. And yet—the believers still claim to know! - Christopher Hitchens
