Let me not labour the point. I have probably said enough to convince at least my older readers that an atheistic world view provides no justification for cutting the bible, and other sacred books, out of our education.

Spinoza I greatly accept the rebuke (in the words of Dawkins of course) I wish I could erase the memory of every kind of torturous read I've had forced on me about this nonsubject.
Mitchell Gilks I never said we should do away with the literature-
For someone who wants to 'preserve literary history' you surely don't know how to read-
And I stand by what I said, we shouldn't force feed children the bible or religious art, and I personaly don't give it as much respect as quite a few "culturally and literarily diverse" people.

what about people like myself who DON'T think that christian'art' is so great- I don't like seeing fat naked or half naked women- everytime I see the work of some 'great' painter I think oh great another fat naked woman or another jesus - just my two cents
oh and
The Bible - as literature, if nothing else - should be an essential part of every child's experience.

Well, I'm geekily interested in this because hmm-if you for example remember-after the universe fizzles out to just about nothing after a trillion trillion w/e years - hmm, we can't have absolutely zero degrees kelvin due to violating uncertainty principle (can't know velocity and location both precisely and at absolute zero you would know both)(well WE might not know both obviously lol)so what happens? - mabye I'm bringing something up that is stupid but I've not heard anyone address it pretty much- any ideas?

The House has the power to formally censure or reprimand its members; censure or reprimand requires only a simple majority, but does not remove a member from office.
The Constitution permits the House to expel any member with a two-thirds vote. In the history of the United States, only five members have been expelled from the House; three of them, John Bullock Clark (D-MO), John William Reid (D-MO), and Henry Cornelius Burnett (D-KY), were removed in 1861 for supporting the Confederate States' secession, which led to the Civil War. Michael Myers (D-PA) was expelled for accepting bribes in 1980, and James Traficant (D-OH) was expelled in 2002 following his conviction for corruption.
I think it's highly unlikely she's gonna be removed from office.
This is disgusting: The annual salary of each Representative is currently $165,200. - YEP, thats the truth. That bigoted barbarian makes 165 thousand a year.

How to you teach Intelligent Design anyway? I mean, all you can do is highlight some problems that evolution hasn't explained yet... and I say yet because you know science will resolve those also if just given time...
EDIT- also I must say I don't know of any either - they've already been solved or explained by science like the immune system evolution or the flagellum

Teratornis:
I don't have a problem with "hate speech" per se. I think it's better for people to say what they honestly think than to go around lying about it.
I totally agree with you that I would prefer honesty over lying (I'm brutally honest about everything to everyone and the friends I have a true friends because of it) but in this ladies capacity as a represenative she should do her job- which doesn't include hate speach or bigotry.

Surely Dr. Benway you would prefer that people not be taught lies and consequently their view of reality become deminished as a result? (especially children)- I mean techincally they're actively teaching untruths- and you're ok with that? - well this is a longstanding discussion me and my friend Steven have been having - do people like Scientologists have the right to teach obvious untruths? or is it wrong and groups like Anonymous should receive our/my support? - It's a good topic because I can see truths on both sides like mabye there is utility in the doctrin of those beliefs- but still, to me somehow, truth seems better and teaching untruths- lies- whatever you call them- seems well you know wrong or morally wrong somewhat...

haha, jehovah's witnesses just knocked on my door while i was getting up and i went to the door and they started talking and it was just gibberish..you know spiritual talk- and finally i interrupted and said "is this religious"? and he said yeah- and I said "oh well I don't believe in invisible people with magic powers like angels and demons and gods" and he said: "well how did we get here...i mean you've got a brain"- I said "evolution through natural selection"- well he proceeded to tell me that they have a book about that and I said I already know about that book (since i studied it when i was a young kid) and that all that book does is say that evolution is just chance and nothing great comes about by chance- when evolution is the very opposite of chance- and that I think they are deluded (to borrow a phrase from a certain distinguished Professor lol) and he said well would you be interested in talking about it further or reading their book and I said "ABSOLUTELY NOT" and then they just turned around and left - (then I turned on the Animal Planet channel on tv and relaxed haha)
What makes me mad is that they are actively trying to make people believe in that bullshXt. I wish noone would be brainwashed like they are.

I detested the video and music - I hate rap and the graphics were similar to south park (which is also rediculous and ugly)- I come here to get AWAY from american culture similar to this video-
I don't want to know who wasted their cpu and time on this- oh and I want rap to DIE out yesterday
The music was hiddeous. The beat was simply a drum machine on loop (which is what most rap is) and the loop of the chorus was uninteresting and looped identically (which is another 'lack of talent' problem)-
I would have preferred some organically remixed electronic complexity! - but then again how could you expect that with lyrics like "D 2 tha Dawk 2 tha PhD"-
