Did you prove that they talked once a month for 15 years? No you didn't, so the relationship is being overplayed.
Working on legislation and boards together just means they worked together and does not prove friendship for 15 years, neither does starting your political career at his house. Once again, overplayed.

"Theres a lot of information out there proving they had a 15 year relationship. But who cares because it wouldn't change your mind anyway. SO vote for your messiah."
You missed the point. The media/Mcpalin is overplaying the relationship. Maybe they knew each other for 15 years, that does not mean that they were best buddies. How often did they talk? If you can prove they talked even once a month I would take that as a 15 year relationship. You can't prove this so we can't take it seriously.
"SO vote for your messiah."
Again no one has said Obama is the mesiah or that he is perfect, just much better than McPalin, so stop saying that.

Just saw Religulous. I thought it was very good. The theatre was almost full and filled with cynical laughs throughout. I think this is a very important film. Maher exposes the glaring inacuracies of all the main religions and ends with a powerful warning of the dangers of religion to the future of humanity.
Any kind of criticism of religion brought to the main stream is a good thing and Maher did great.

Blasphemy!!! Careful there caudi. You can't compare those two and you know that. Usually scientists and health professionals base thier opinions on objective research. When new research emerges things can change, maybe this is one of them. But still, bad comparison.

That is interesting. I will read the article tomorrow after I recover from the adverse health effects I am about to impose on my body from large quantities of alcohol. Are there any studies that show large quantities of alcohol is not really bad for you??? Kidding.

186. Math Skills Suffer in U.S., Study Finds
Comment #263322 by righton on October 10, 2008 at 3:18 pm
I was never good at math, never got good grades in it, C's and B's, mostly C's.
I like Bonzais summary of the situation, comment #15.
I think if it was taught in a completely different way I would have done a lot better. More emphasis should be put on the context of the problems, where they come from, how they relate to other problems, and how the concepts were disovered. Some math history would help to make the classes more interesting and easier to understand.
Strictly showing examples of problems and then drilling the students with homework problems does not work very well. I remember being able to do some of the math but having no idea about the overall concepts and why they are important.
Despite my low grades I have never had trouble doing any general math in my everyday life or at my job, molecular biologist. However I think it would help to know more about statistics for my work and am contemplating taking a class, I took calculus instead of stats, as an undergrad.

Very nice post, I agree with you. Problem is, we have been over this many times. DP will just regurgitate a long list of political rhetoric and BS, that paints the democrats as evil economy ruiners and makes the republicans look like, well, Gods. Steve said it best, he is a dogmatist. He will twist anything in any way to show that the democrats are to blame for everything.
