Yesssssss, ahhhhhhhhhh whhhhat?
And I thought only a Pan Galatic Gargle Blaster could do that to me.
I would not dignify this paper even if I ran out of loo roll. The only barely saving point in there that I made out was that evolutionary theory is being updated in line with new findings and research. Yes guys, that's real science for you!

Darwin got the ball rolling but he will never have the final say. Guess Liddle has not read "Almost Like A Whale" for a modern rewriting of Origin of Species but judging by the programe he had a point to make. I get the feeling it would not make a jot of difference to him.
The problem with sitting on the fence is its rather uncomfortable. As a scientist it is not a problem saying I don't know if that's the case, but the evidence suggests this. Origin is not a sacred text, but words that we do not trust in alone - evidence dear boy, evidence matters!
Social Darwinism, and the idea that nature should take its course is not a natural progression of evolution therory. As humans we fight against our replicating DNAs consequences all the time - HIV research and condoms one example.
Singer sadly was not given much time to explain ethics as utilitarianism. Read "Practical Ethics", to see that morality without a divine law giver is possible. Science is a why of life not a how to live it.
