Quetz and Gregg,

Blame IMDB and their movie quotes. Everytime I hear or read the word Sicilian I picture Vizzini. INCONCIEVABLE!!!

edit- Al, If you go to France to kick some butt count me in...as long as it's June or after...Mom is a Deutschlander after all...

Hmm, somehow I'm feeling all Dr Strangelove after that statement...

More Princess Bride...

Vizzini: INCONCEIVABLE.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[In the boat in the morning]
Inigo Montoya: He's right on top of us. I wonder if he is using the same wind we are using.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Vizzini has just cut the rope The Dread Pirate Roberts is climbing up]
Vizzini: HE DIDN'T FALL? INCONCEIVABLE.
Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means

The cut and paste of your own cut and past was a bit redundant don't ya think Joe? I thought we were talking about a circus performer not some sort of infomercial for some amazing product that gets cat piss stains out of the carpet.

The Smiths and Morrissey always reminded me of theme music for stalkers and other violators of restraining orders. Not that I didn't like the music mind you. I listened to Everyday Like Sunday just a few hours ago...

Linkin Park is okay but in my opinion they don't sound very good "live".

With the Sicilian statement I couldn't resist.

From The Princess Bride

Man in Black, Vizzini: [they drink ]
Man in Black: You guessed wrong.
Vizzini: You only think I guessed wrong! That's what's so funny! I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha...
Vizzini: [Vizzini stops suddenly, and falls dead to the right]
Buttercup: And to think, all that time it was your cup that was poisoned.
Man in Black: They were both poisoned. I spent the last few years building up an immunity to iocane powder.

No, do not substitute vodka for bourbon. This act would be an abomination.

Al,

by that standard then Metro Detroit (saying Metro to include Dearborn and Bloomfield Hills) is the LA of the Midwest. Although I think it's Iraqis and Lebanese in Dearborn...

-edit- You can get really good food there though. The bread and hummus etc is excellent.

Team crash and burn was a group of us from work who would go and compete at the local hill. Kind of like league bowling at the local slope. I don't know if what I did could be called skiing. But it was fun and a good excuse to go to the hill and to drink afterwards.

Al,

is the Kuwaiti Ski Team similar to the Jamaican bob-sledders?

Would they remind me of the group of us (a fellow how's parent's were from Norway, a girl from the detroit suburbs, and myself a beaner-schnitzel) who's ski team was called team crash and burn?

TWP...

So Dallas is the LA of the South? Is that because of the sprawl, smog, and traffic? ;)

Did you get to the part of the Simpson's movie where Homer is in church and grabs the bible and says "there are no answers in here"?

I'm fortunate that my father, the retired science teacher/former alter boy/paratrooper drill instructor, shed the yoke of religion. There was the relapse in my tweens, which is why I was confirmed, but he shook it off. He was still the favorite of his ex-nun sister though but there was a bit of tension with the brother and sister inlaw who are in the choir.

I wouldn't say he isn't religious however...he worships fishing.

Comment #211862 by Tezcatlipoca on July 16, 2008 at 10:54 am

Joe,

You've been asked to provide evidence for the existance of your god. Yet you continue to ignore the request. If I were to subscribe to the same tautological and nonsensical thinking that you apparently do then I'd say your god does not exist simply on the basis of your responses. Let alone the abyssmal lack of evidence.

edit- I think it goes like this. Joe says he thinks his god exists. Through his statements Joe demonstrates he doesn't think at all. Therefore the thought of his concept of deity is unthinkable...
