"Fucking pussies are worthwhile."
Exactly my point as well.

Mordacious1,
Har har. ;op Go right ahead. . . seriously!
Mitchell,
Goodness. Thanks, I appreciate it. *red-cheeked with embarrassement*
Well, just to hop back on topic, this article is nothing but a collection of pretty words, appeal to emotions, and demonization of atheists. Nothing new here, folks. I used to be an evangelical christian and I've read similar crap. Absolutely nothing new.

Dhamma,
Close, but, alas, I am not God. I don't know why you're having issues.

Hey thanks Gregg! I'm learning, I'm learning.

Yes, Dhamma, I agree. Don't worry, I'm not that kind of feminist. I am a bit of a tomboy, played sports all my life. Maybe that's why I don't like the vagina being used to imply weakness. I guess I take it personally.

I'm with you Cartomancer. I think we'd all go apoplectic if you ever exclaimed, "Fucktard!". Then I'd know something was really up! ;oP
I do want to mention I'm not being a thread police or trying to clean house. I just thought it was worth mentioning and discussing. I'm actually relieved that no one attacked me for it. Maybe I need thicker skin, but part of the reason I've kept quiet and lurked for so long was because I was nervous I'd say the wrong thing and KaBoom! people are all over me. So thsnks for the kind welcome!

No worries Al. I'm pickin' up what you're layin' down. I'm married to a Navy jet pilot, so trust me, I know ALL about profanity. Just personally don't like the implications of cunt and pussy, that's all.
Radesq, go ahead, I'm actually curious as to what you could find from CocoCantare!

Well, use all the words ya like, Dhamma, if it makes you feel better!:)
For the sake of argument, though, I think that using these words only drives home the point christians and other religionists make about atheists being crude, immoral, etc. etc. As a former baptist/evangelical, if someone were using those words to help me out of my delusion, I would have walked right home and dug deeper into my faith. What helped me change recently was this website and the articulate arguments of the intelligent posts on threads. But. . . .
If you're just blowing steam at the irony/audacity of Scruton like many do here (and I think it's healthy). . . once again. . .carry on.

Okay. . . first time post. I've been a "lurker" for a few months now. I enjoy this site and and all the threads that go along with. I have learned a lot and have changed quite a bit in my thinking thanks to the likes of Steve Zara, MPhil, "Al", Cartomancer, etc. (Can't name everyone. . . sorry). I do have a little bit of a rant that is somewhat off-topic. I would like to ask why some posters on these threads continue to insult people with the words cunt and pussy?
As a woman and freethinker/rationalist, I can't understand why other freethinker/rationalists continue to use the anatomy of the woman to imply someone is being weak or stupid. Sure, some of these same people use dick, etc., but I can't help but wince every time someone uses cunt or pussy to signify weakness. Maybe I'm just sensitive. . . okay, friends, carry on.
*Winces as she prepares for the backlash*
