201. The Most Hated Family in America

Comment #233350 by Diacanu on August 19, 2008 at 7:30 pm

Everyone, do your own personal Google video search for the show, it's out there.

Every link they put up here gets killed.

The one on onegoodmove is the trailer, Google's got the whole hour long show.

Their actions are abhorrent but dismissing them as 'evil' does not solve the problem.

I don't think that I did that.

I suppose I wasn't clear enough.
They didn't pop into my head because I hate them the most, but I do know they are probably the most hated by others.
It's either them, or the Bushes, and no way an article about the Bush family is going to have that headline.
It was pretty easy to suss out.

but I'd hope that to be published one would still need more sense than he showed.

Hey, Anne Coulter and Dinish D'souza get published too.

Publishing's a business, and don't look to business to set a standard of quality or integrity.

I mean, drug stores sell the very candy that causes the diabetes they shill out insulin for.

"Yep"

"Is the sky blue?".

"Yep".

"Is the sky still blue?".

"Yep".

"Dammit, you sound like a broken record!!".

Well, we could say the sky is pink with puce polka dots, but it wouldn't be fucking true, would it?

But there's no arguing with the logic of his position.

Let him have his delusions then, but so much for organized religion.

How do you inflict on others your imaginary friend's edicts, if your red/God isn't everyone else's red/God?

You can't do it.
Not rationally and consistently anyway.

Hasn't stopped 'em doing it though.

David A. Robertson-

As for Diacanu being a model for others to follow - are you serious?! Take this as an example of his wit/reason. Is this really how you want to be perceived?
"Some people need to grow some nerve and speak up for themselves regardless of what they think others might think, and if they can't, well fuck 'em. No, this routine of patting yourself on the back for being a rebel, without doing anything to try to fix the perceived problem makes you a cunt.
Okay, you didn't get on the big Robertson dogpile, good for you.
What's your solution?
Piss in everyone's eye in contempt?
Wow, good for you.
What a hero.How boring.
As boring as what you damn.'

And there is much more in the same vein. I thought if I used Diacanu as an example of this site you would all be complaining. Now you want to claim him as one of your best. Thanks. Yeah Steve - 'he chooses words with precision"!

Would you care to point out specifically where you think my wording was "imprecise"?
Or, better still, where you think I was..y'know, WRONG?
Some actual refutation please?

Diacanu - Really? So you would be quite happy to see racist terms like 'nigger' being used on this website?

It's just a word.
It's the context that matters.
As with all words.
I mean, you just used it, and I'm not assuming you're a racist asshole.
See? Nothing magic about the word.
See how that works?
Amazing huh?

There are after all no 'bad words'.

Nope, not a one.

In anatheist world how can there be good and bad anyway.

You've had this explained to you enough times, don't play stupid.
I mean, you are, but not so much that you have Alzheimers as well.

Surely these are just social constructs?

Yep.
A Tasmanian Devil tornado of immorality wouldn't get along with his society very well.
You'd have a hard time passing along your genes if the next guy was killing your kids every 9 months.
Species would've died out pretty quick.
But, we didn't, and here we are, and so is morality.
Kooky, huh?
It's so complicated and all.
Golly, so counter-intuitive, this evolution thing.

Hmm, there we go, a creationist chilren's special.

It practically writes itself!

A workshop of little Keebler Elves with little molecule wrenches building DNA on an assembly line.

(Sings with helium voice)
We are Elves! We are Elves! we are Yahweh's jo-lly elves!
And we laugh and sing, as we do our thing! And we wish you, a jo-lly day!!

Yeah, you could pump that out on VHS, and have it be the whole class curriculum for creationism.

The test would be a breeze.

Jamcam-

not about trying to make people feel stupid.

Well, sadly and unavoidably, some people actually ARE fucking stupid.

When I find that that stupidity comes in a form that's destructive, and immune to conventional criticism, I vent.

I've yet to see the theoretical harm I keep hearing people say this venting will cause.

I've been on the net doing my thing for over 10 years, and no one's lost an eye yet.

Have I changed minds? I dunno.
If not, the minds of the indoctrinated by definition, aren't for changing.

But, maybe I can help open-minded people see things in a new way.

If I did that for one person, my existence was of use.

The possibility of hurting David Robertson's precious widdwe feelings doesn't make me pause in that mission by a single atom.

That fact that it's pretty safe to suppose Davey isn't nudged from his idiot assumptions in the slightest from any "dirty", things I may have said would remove that atom if it were there to begin with.

If you think that attitude "dooms", the "atheist cause", well, it's already "doomed", because, as I said, the hopelessly indoctrinated mind is lost.

But, I'm not out to get them back.
And I don't suppose for an instant any "atheist cause", relies on doing so.

Do I turn off any fence sitters with my attitude and language?
maybe. I dunno.
But people teetering on the fence toward the christian side, that I need to make kissy noises, and wave a piece of tuna for hours on end to win over,...well...I don't want them.
There, I said it.

You want 'em, YOU seduce 'em.

Well, good for you. Pat yourself on the back.

Myself, I find the notion of "bad words", to be as childish and superstitious as religion itself.

I find things Robertson and other christians say to be far more vulgar than any so-called profanity.

That they used "clean", words to convey their scum gives them no credit at all.

Davey earned the ire he gets fair and square.

He's not some poor little ignorant fragile blue haired lady in the pews with her hymn book, he's a carnival barker who's livelihood depends on the okey-doke of religion, and has demonstrated that his machinations are habitual, and deliberate.

He's not one to be coddled, but opposed, and I have no problem whatever doing so.
