Comment #20840 by MIND_REBEL on February 6, 2007 at 6:14 pm
"It's rather annoying hearing so many people decry Greydon when if they were to watch his videos, they would know that he's an EX-crip."
How ya figure? He still wears his blues, carries guns, and cocks his hat to the left. Thats like saying someones an ex-Christian that just happens to go to church every sunday, pray, and sing in the choir.

Sam Harris is a regular on Fox News. I'm glad that you guys are starting to wake up, and realize that liberalism is just as dogmatic as religion.

Comment #20824 by MIND_REBEL on February 6, 2007 at 5:46 pm
"Damn it! We've been "SHUT UP" for decades now. But no longer. They WILL hear us."
Disgusting, par for the course with CNN. This is the same network that brought us the "so poor, so black" comment.
I said it before, and i will say it again, Atheism is the civil rights movement version 2.0.
204. Interview with Alister McGrath, author of 'The Dawkins Delusion?'
Comment #20820 by MIND_REBEL on February 6, 2007 at 5:37 pm
Alister McGrath is a typical young earth creationist. Now that Ted Haggard has been dethrowned, he's trying to step up and take his place. Maybe, he should learn some science and figure out that the world isn't 6000 years old.
I say, Prof Dawkins, should sue to stop him from making a book off his name. It's slander, plain and simple.

Horribe, but typical of CNN.

I don't think he really explains anything...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GItTQsfrRIM&mode=related&search=
It's a shame he took down the video were he alluded to a Jewish conspiracy to control the world. The guy is a complete nutcase, he's just making us look stupid with his rants. Anybody that endorses him, or violence based on atheism, needs a to have thier head examined.
208. Sam Harris talks about 'The End of Faith'
Comment #20784 by MIND_REBEL on February 6, 2007 at 1:54 pm
Great to see some real scientists getting some publicity. The movement is getting stronger everyday.
209. Benny Hinn Faith Healing Scam - Burton and Tinkler
Comment #20689 by MIND_REBEL on February 5, 2007 at 7:27 pm
Think of all the money that could have been donated to science, instead of benny's new jet. This perfectly demonstrates the moral and ethical limitations of a capitalist society. People have so much money they waste them on fairytales instead of supporting the observation and understanding of the natural world.

I watched enough of his stuff to know he's a crip, and postures with illegal machine guns in his videos.
I'm Mexican, and have seen enough gang violence to know that gangbangers are the scum of the earth. No excuses.

213. God and gorillas
Comment #20302 by MIND_REBEL on February 1, 2007 at 4:07 pm
What crap. Honestly, how can somebody be an agnostic and still consider themselves a scientist. What if you're agnostic about the data you're suppoused to look at, "oh i'm not sure if it's really there or not, so i'll just be respectful, so as not to hurt anybodys feelings". The end result is that nothing would ever be accomplished and we'd still be living in the stone ages.
It's time for real scientists to start to push the line about tolerating agnostics and theists in important matters like science and medicine.
214. What a Friend We Have in Dawkins
Comment #20301 by MIND_REBEL on February 1, 2007 at 3:57 pm
In fifty years Dawkins will be held in the same regard as Socrates, Einstein, and Darwin. I can't think of single person alive today that has had a greater postive influence on the world. Prof Dawkins is everything that Rev Martin Luther King could have and should have been.
The Orr "review", if thats what you want to call it, was horrible and i'm suprisied and shocked to see a mainstream press like the NYtimes yielding to the pressure of the radical creationist lobby. I like to see Orr review some of the "science" books that say the world is only 6000 years old. I bet he wouldn't think of it, but yet he'll bash real scientists like Dawkins, who are only making the world a better place.
215. Neil deGrasse Tyson - Death by Black Hole
Comment #20140 by MIND_REBEL on January 31, 2007 at 3:04 pm
I feel Neil Tyson does a disservice to the work of prof Dawkins by tolerating the theistic worldview. People like him are giving just as much cover to the extremists as the religious moderates. An Atheist that is ashamed of his atheism doesn't deserve to call themselves an atheist.
216. Richard Dawkins interview about 'Unweaving the Rainbow'

"Something like 44% of the US population believes that Jesus will probably or certainly come within the next 50 years."
Surveys show that 43% of respondents say something that could possibly be interprated like that.
222. Neither intellect nor faith will save humanity
Comment #18511 by MIND_REBEL on January 21, 2007 at 11:25 am
I agree with you nine9s. Redneck is a racially loaded bigoted term. My parents are from Durango, which is Cowboy country, so i grew up with lots of cowboy hats, boots, tejano music, bolo ties, line dancing...you name it. Just because somebody looks a certain way, it's incredibily bigoted to think they're going to think a certain way.
223. Neither intellect nor faith will save humanity
Comment #18508 by MIND_REBEL on January 21, 2007 at 10:40 am
Thanks guys. I'm Mexican, do you have any cute words to describe me? I'd guess it starts with "S" and ends with a "C". The same type of person that calls people "redneck" won't hesitate to drop other racial slurs. Bigotry is bigotry, and just because some forms are more acceptable than others doesn't mean it's okay.
224. Neither intellect nor faith will save humanity
Comment #18433 by MIND_REBEL on January 20, 2007 at 7:05 pm
"I have no problem at all with terms like "redneck". It's just a quick way of saying "under-educated, ignorant hick moron".
Do you hate poor blacks, too? Do you have any quick ways to describe them? I bet you do. People don't pick where they're born or to have rich parents, so cut people some slack about things they don't choose. It's how they live thier lives that matter. Bill Clinton is a redneck, GWB is not. You just hate anyone less fortunate than yourself.
225. Neither intellect nor faith will save humanity
Comment #18398 by MIND_REBEL on January 20, 2007 at 2:53 pm
"The recent revelations that George Bush is in fact profoundly and quite genuinely religious, and not just making it up to win votes from the redneck knuckle-draggers"
Redneck is not an acceptable term. No need for bigotry.

Sam Harris is correct about everything. Religion is the root cause of sexism.

As always Sam is correct.
228. A deadly certitude
Comment #17938 by MIND_REBEL on January 17, 2007 at 3:55 pm
Great to see Steven sticking up for Dawkins against the cheapshots from the NYTimes. An attack on atheism is an attack on science, and science is progress, so logically, an attack on Atheism is an attack on progress, and i won't support any publication that is not supportive of the movement.
229. Sam Harris at Idea City '05
Comment #17920 by MIND_REBEL on January 17, 2007 at 2:22 pm
Sam, great speech. I love the way you call all those Christians on thier irrational ideas. If everybody was more like you, the world would be a much better place.

Comment #17512 by MIND_REBEL on January 14, 2007 at 9:57 am
I agree 100%, i'm an atheist and i'm a conservative. It's about time that nonbelievers woke up, and realizied that liberalism is basically just another religion.

Comment #17067 by MIND_REBEL on January 10, 2007 at 2:59 pm
Too little, too late. I would like to see a formal apology, and have Gorenfield go write for some religious website, instead of just pretending to be objective.

240. Questionable Mission
Comment #16623 by MIND_REBEL on January 7, 2007 at 4:31 pm
"Having someone in the military who places duty to country in third place is rather frightening. It is equally worrisome that so many people are apparently using their positions of authority -- the salaries of which are paid for by public taxation -- to proselytize for their faith."
I agree 100%. I think its also questionable when a public employee uses a portion of the governmental income to support religious causes. Because if you really think about it, it's still our tax dollars going to support stuff that blurrs the line of seperation of church and state. I'm not overly concerned about it, but it's still a bummer.

LOL at this Straw Man.
