The anime` our boys read/watch do indeed have very westernized looking females. My husband informed me that Japanese women (ladies de la soir) had breast enhancements to lure occuping U.S. forces.

Been there, done that.
To paraphrase my earlier posts...
it's partly the 'No Child Left Behind' program, or as a critic calls it 'No Child Gets Ahead'.
Partly the new "Empowered but not Educated" philosophy (can't remember who coined that phrase).
Obviously there are other factors; the end result is we've had to fill in the gaps that our school left; science home-schooling so to speak.

Part of the problem is the U.S. 'No Child Left Behind' education policy, or as one critic calls it, "No Child Gets Ahead". It has weak emphasis on math/science.
