302. Saudi court tells girl aged EIGHT she cannot divorce husband who is 50 years her senior

Dhamma - what's bizarre about fir trees in the corner of the house on a plus 40 c day? I'll just go and dive in the pool, now, and float around on my plastic blow-up Santa while my daughter brings me a Manhattan.

This is not a stock answer laurie. it is just my life. I see you have a beautiful daughter, I know that there must have been a sort of revelation of love in your heart for her.

The love I have for my grand-daughter is perfectly explainable. No, I take that back - not perfectly, but at least I can think about the causes of that love, and, guess what? They have nothing to do with a supernatural being. They have to do with completely physical, neurological, evolutionary programming. Those feelings are, notwithstanding, beautiful and natural.

Your feelings are, as well, neurologically-driven. But, unlike mine, they are the product of a disease, for which you can get treatment.

Nor is it correct to pray to the Prophet to grant us our needs. He certainly was the best man that ever walked the earth,

Oh, beauty! So I can now go around raping nine year-old girls and feel holy, can I?

Which leads us to the WWMD question in relation to this case.

Answer: he'd wait a year before he raped her.

Where can I find some of these militant homosexuals that the right-wing bigots keep talking about? I've always had something of a thing for strapping young men in uniform...

Behave!

Exactly, Roland. Atheists take the quite reasonable approach that, as humanity has developed in so many other areas of both personal and public knowledge, culture, technology, etc., why on earth should we feel chained to a neo-paleolithic ethical consciousness?

Not that I know of, mate. It was televised, so it's probably around in the vaults. Don't think there's ever been a commercial release. It was a xmas concert in the Domain in Sydney.

Edit: Early to mid 80s, IMSC.

Hawt - yes, video done. (She kept bumping into the prima - and then would just stand there looking at all the lights, costumes, etc, before she remembered she was supposed to be running around. We were in hysterics.)

My wife's sister is a soprano who lives in Munich. A huge voice in the Joan mould. One day, when she was about 11, she just started singing, and this VOICE came out. Everyone was stunned. She studied in Italy & France, then sang in Canada for several years, and has been in Germany for some time. We'll be staying with her next year on our way to Dublin.

Hi guys - No hangover, Brian, just existential angst.

Sociopathy presents as a disregard for the well-being of others, amongst other things. It's a symptom of the sociopath's complete egocentricity. The world is only meaningful or valuable in terms of what it can afford the sociopath himself. He will not recognise that other people's feelings or needs have any value. The clever sociopath is usually adept at disguising his sociopathy, through learning appropriate behaviours. But the guard comes down, occasionally. DG's comment in response to mine was such an occasion.

332. Obama Chooses Divisive Inaugural Pastor

Comment #303908 by Laurie Fraser on December 19, 2008 at 4:52 pm

In a nation bogged down by irrationality on all sides, from religion to economics, what it needed now was a president unencumbered by obligations to both the party machine and the lobbying pressure of big religion and big capital. It seems Obama has yet to find his gonads. Sarmatae, you are absolutely correct on this. Chomsky nailed the situation.
