If these had gone thru the U.S. Postal Service, the Postal Inspectors would of checked it out.
My husband is a letter carrier and hates/resents having to deliver religious crap. If he had to deliver these, he'd s*** a brick.

Irregardless is a word.

My husband has read quite a bit about Hitler and WWII (NOT from Monty Python); he'll enjoy looking at these interesting posts.

Concerning B.D.'s moniker, it seems profanatory.

This article kind of reads like a horoscope, generalized and all over the map.

The anime` our boys read/watch do indeed have very westernized looking females. My husband informed me that Japanese women (ladies de la soir) had breast enhancements to lure occuping U.S. forces.
gordon, do you like modern art, such as Mark Rothko's 'untitled #11'. I admit I didn't read your first few tete`a`tete posts concerning art.

I was gonna bypass that line; maybe it's a reference to the so-called extremists who ram whaling boats or booby-trap trees for loggers?

370. Scientific Savvy? In U.S., Not Much

Comment #54448 by bluebird on July 7, 2007 at 7:19 am

Mais oui, exactement...
Been there, done that.

To paraphrase my earlier posts...
it's partly the 'No Child Left Behind' program, or as a critic calls it 'No Child Gets Ahead'.
Partly the new "Empowered but not Educated" philosophy (can't remember who coined that phrase).

Obviously there are other factors; the end result is we've had to fill in the gaps that our school left; science home-schooling so to speak.

374. Science of the Soul? 'I Think, Therefore I Am' Is Losing Force

Comment #52797 by bluebird on June 28, 2007 at 5:26 am

Our teenage sons know that the idea of a soul is complete blatherskite!!

One son wrote on a school project "I have no soul"; the teacher crossed it out and wrote "yes you do". Aaaarrrgghhh.

S.O.S.
Au contraire, thorns in a bed of roses.
As I stated in another thread, women want control of their reproductive issues ( in reference to the article). This includes contraceptives, EVERYTHING. Shame on anyone past and present who has ever embarrassed, or hindered girls/women who tried to exert control of their bodies.

Comment #50019 by bluebird on June 14, 2007 at 2:49 pm

There needs to be worldwide accessibility to contraceptives that are readily available, cheap, and easy to use. Most women (perhaps all) want control of their reproductive issues, but this won't happen anytime soon, if ever.

Comment #48331 by bluebird on June 7, 2007 at 1:18 pm

A volunteer at a Living History place showed us a lesson plan for 8th grade circa 1900 or so and said "look what kids USED to know at that age"; nowadays would be college entry stuff, if that.

383. Protesting the Creation Museum

Comment #48312 by bluebird on June 7, 2007 at 11:46 am

Part of the problem is the U.S. 'No Child Left Behind' education policy, or as one critic calls it, "No Child Gets Ahead". It has weak emphasis on math/science.

Also, there are too many "empowered, but not educated" classes.

They'd say that a potato chip that resembles Richard Nixon is a random act of nature, but, a grilled cheese sandwich with the alleged face of Mary is something to flock to, cry over, then sell on e-bay to the highest bidder.

If we drive past this statue on I-70 during our next camping trip, we'll all give it the evil eye.
