I don't want to sound mean by holding that against it. I just have different views when it comes to animals political policies and philosophies.

This is weird, but Skylark seems to be taking a liking to you...

I find it interesting that your response to my question about Skylark asking you nicely to vote Obama was "I am a dog lover", personally my answer would have been - BLOODY HELL, its a talking cat! :)

Philip,

It's more of a mind meld thing with Skylark, that is if you dare to look into his eyes!

DP,

...The analogy was if we treated those men the way we treat taxes. It had nothing to do with what they make but the taxes they pay.

And you've just proved my point. We shouldn't be talking about taxes without acknowledging what they make 'total', or else we get the situation brought up in the video...

Yes, it's an analogy, but a misleading one...

Comment #273199 by severalspeciesof on October 28, 2008 at 9:39 am

I haven't had a chance to go through ALL the posts here, but the general consensus I gather is that this is all speculation, and some are saying that speculation is unproductive.

I disagree with that.

Speculation is a baby step to knowledge. It's a dangerous baby step if precautions are not taken, namely admission that it is speculation. But a direction can be at least taken here. The problem is 'What direction?'. It's a multi-layered situation that I think can only be chipped away at, with several hundred false starts and false negatives/positives in the way.

I also wonder what Richard's take is on his appearance on 'Dr Who', and if memory serves, wasn't his wife a 'side-kick' to 'Dr. Who'?

Comment #273144 by severalspeciesof on October 28, 2008 at 8:12 am

DP,

You're right, so I'll try to set it straight...

It's a bad analogy because not all pertinent information is given. It conveniently loses sight of the money actually being made by each of the ten drinkers, above and beyond the taxes.

The man paying the most in taxes also makes, percentage wise, much much more than all the others. It also loses sight of the fact that the richest man also has more tax break advantages than the others. In other words, while it's true that he may be paying the most in taxes (on paper), when he works the system the way it's set up: ability to divert income and the like, depreciation, etc. etc., after all is said and done, percentage wise, he may be paying less than the others (if he's smart enough).

*Sarah Palin*

Side note...

The confusion with taxes makes me wish for the day when Forbes ran for President on his flat tax platform...

Another can of worms...

Finally got to listen to "Rebuild the Wall"

I give it a big thumbs up and Skaylark gives it a five claw extension!

Funny too...

With the idea of remakes of Pink Floyd I dug out a CD done by vocomotion, redoing the "Dark Side of The Moon". It's all done with the human voice, no instruments or drums were used. Quite the listen. It's also Wizard of OZ compatible!

SSO,

You are the Pink Flyod guy, right'

A friend of mine put an album out awhile back called 'Rebuild the Wall'. He countrified 'The Wall'.

I think it is genius.

http://www.youtube.com/watch'v=dhpnB9-ClB4

What do you think'

Yes, I am the Pink Floyd guy.
I'll let you know what I think tomorrow, as the computer I am on right now has no volume (I'm at the public library) I might surprise everyone here and actually like it, as I have a Symphonic Orchestral (I think it's the London Symphonic, not sure) rendition of the Wall, and I like that...

but then you did say countrified...

can't wait...
