The first real Camp Quest Colorado event, our Family Weekend Retreat, will be on August 9th to the 11th, up in the mountains at the Kellogg Ranch near Boulder. Several spots are still available!
The purpose of Camp Quest is to provide children of freethinking parents a residential summer camp dedicated to improving the human condition through rational inquiry, critical and creative thinking, scientific method, self-respect, ethics, competency, self development and personal growth. Campers explore these ideas through fun hands-on activities. They also enjoy traditional summer camp games, crafts and challenges.
All of your food is included, prepared by our own gourmet Chef Jeff and staff. Activities and workshops are being carefully planned by experienced and certified Camp Quest Oklahoma counselors, including Mary E, Director of Camp Quest Oklahoma and her husband, Jackalope Joe (loved by the kids), who are all traveling all the way from Oklahoma to help make this event incredibly special. CQOK is now in its 4th year.
The culture of Camp Quest is really great. It is a camp for kids of atheist and freethinking parents, where there is no discrimination of any kind, and kids are encouraged to think for themselves. Learning about science and nature is emphasized. Religion is not taught, although at the Socrates Cafe, a forum where kids are encouraged to talk about controversial subjects, it is OK to talk about religion and whether god exists or not.
The cost for the 3 day, 2 night event is $50 per family, plus $90 per person. Children 3 and under are free. Scholarships are also available. The price includes all of your food and activities for the entire weekend. You will need to bring your own camping equipment, but if you need something, we can provide some items.
