    Given the vastness of the universe and the consequent profusion of life, what must the ultimate consummation of the process of evolution be?
    It is my contention that the inevitable and ultimate result of evolution is this: <u>that</u> somewhere, sooner or later, <u>an entity would be evolved</u> through either natural or artificial means <u>which would no longer be subject to time.

    Gardner, you’ve already posted this exact same thing down in the Philosophy section.  I’ll give you the same answer I did then.  Your contention that there is some “ultimate consummation of the process of evolution” is so much marsh gas.  There is no logical reason whatsoever to make this assumption.  If you like to speculation along such lines, that’s fine.  But don’t try and tell us that it’s the logical result of evolution, because it isn’t.
