and we’d have to elect Gomer Pyle next to keep that title from him.
Christ I’d be more than willing to take my chance with Gomer Pyle over Trump any day. He actually wasn’t that dumb and he respected people and civility. I’m certain we’d be in safer hand had Gomer Pyle taken the oath in 2017.
(and I didn’t even like the show – in fact, it…[Read more]

Lausten, thank you. That’s what I’ve been talking about, serious shit that makes me think and work it out. Now this is finally feeling complete and clean. Gonna let it sit while I get some work done and then reread a time or two and send it in. I really appreciate you taking the time to do that.
I’m posting it over here inviting some more cri…[Read more]

Dang Lausten, reworked it. Got more consistence with mentioning dates and times. Cleaned up a number of sentences. It sounds better for sure, has a bit of that elusive cadence – and then I get to the end and smack 1044 wrd.
Frustrating since I had it down to 970, then hanging below 1000 – let down the guard for a moment, cadence and rhythm an…[Read more]

As for grieving animals, google it. A little while ago I discovered there’s all sort of stuff written on it. Some better than others, but I don’t have the time to do my usual link parade, but am comfortable that plenty is out there and some of it look pretty legitimate.

Hmmm, personally seems to me if you want to have a serious discussion about the “Evolution” of religion, that it would not be out of hand to first consider grieving in animals. I think it’s important because, grieving death is the first recognition of something going on that’s beyond living.
Developing (evolving) curiosity and brains can heap…[Read more]

November 14, 2019 at 2:29 pm – No, not disturbing, a trifle narcissistic perhaps but not disturbing.

Silly me, guess I should have remembered that. Sometimes. Although if you knew the three ring circus I’m subjected to, it might make more sense. Now instead of the morning for this, suddenly I need to run off to deal with unexpected issues at the X’s house 50 miles away. Like my aunt rosanna anna danna used to say, if it ain’t one thing, it’…[Read more]

I just saw that, great timing since I’d already psyched myself up for working on it today, now you turned it into a genuine project.
Thank you.
And talk about killing my babies, you zoomed right in on one didn’t you – I’ve two thirds left to read carefully but from skimming, I see there’s much to consider and work on.
I genuinely…[Read more]

Have you ever heard the writing advice: You gotta kill your babies.
That’s what I’m look,
but you gave me the inspiration, gonna copy and paste this and figure out which paragraph or two needs to go.
Although Tim, you know, you never did said anything about whether it made any sense to you, or if it flowed?

I’ve mentioned before how the Cambrian explosion seems – to me – to be very strong evidence of an intelligent agency operating in the past.
But that conviction, on your part, requires you to ignore all the evidence presented about the Ediacaran Periods and Cambrian Periods – and replace it with misinformation. How can that be consider fair in…[Read more]

Nice score Lausten, I’ve been looking for something that organized it as well as concisely as this does.
Uses testable ideas?
Scientific ideas generate specific expectations about observations of the natural world that would support or refute the idea. However, because Intelligent Design doesn’t specify what the Designer is or how the Designer… -

Not sure about what logic we are talking about.
I’m thinking and talking about the conditions in South America that US imperialism (then as well as today) have created, conditions that are robbing people of landscapes and futures, conditions that are making life so unbearable down there, they need to escape.
Ever been in a serious choking…[Read more]

I looked through this and saw a bunch of talk about “irreducible complexity” – but it’s all of the What If variety.
I mean, I didn’t notice any examples of “irreducible complexity” – or did I miss it?
Have examples of irreducible complexity be brought forth?
(Eye and flagella don’t count, too much out there debunking it! Look it up.)

True enough and we did advertise it, and there was a time, long ago, I practically lived in the Durango (Carnegie) Library computer lab. I guess I ought to fit in a mention. Thanks for pointing that out.
