I don’t think trying to correct each other is a good approach in a cooperative effort to think things through.

I’ve always thought that constructive learning is dependent on us correcting each other.  We explain what we believe to the best of our knowledge and experience.  Then someone comes along with more knowledge and experience and who knows more and who is in a position to correct one’s misunderstanding.  Why shouldn’t they correct me, and why shouldn’t I listen to them, and then process their information with mine and let the most complete answer win.  Until more knowledge comes along to further refine our understanding.

Seems like these days everyone needs to feel good and be coddled – well serious learning is tough, sometimes it hurts our ever so tender ego – the serious student appreciates that’s part of the process and takes it in stride.   Hell, even an angelic beautiful baby isn’t born without pain.  Get over it.  Pain dissipates. but solid understanding lives on.
