The difference is, judging the comparative observations of people thousands of years ago who only saw planets as wondering stars to people today with powerful telescopes and space ships. There are good reasons to judge the quality and accuracy of the attributes ascribed. With gods, you don’t have those kinds of instruments or those kinds of observations. Gods will even tell you that you can’t know them.
