Why did these guys lie?

Is it because they are unhappy. Maybe, if they are hiding something they do not want the public to find out about. They would be unhappy if we found out.

Is it because they are stupid? No, they are both highly educated.

Is it greed? No, they both are very rich.

Is it because of Caste? No, the are in the upper caste.

Is it because they have knowledge unknown to us. Possible.

Is it because of medical reason. Does not seem to be.

Is it for security reasons. Is someone threating them. Maybe.

Is it for entertainment. No likely.

CC, if they are not lying then is it possible both scientists just got the same facts wrong? Not worth betting on.
