I tried to introduce him to her, but unfortunately it didn’t quite work because he was too busy with the book signing, for which there was a long queue, which would have been held up if I’d persisted.
I made a similar mistake at a talk & book signing event I attended in Medford last year. I tried to comment on something he sai…[Read more]
I’m a big fan of Sam and I have listened to most of his podcasts. Most are interesting, though some are a bit long… Anything over an hour is just too long in my opinion. I did listen to his 2 hour podcast with Mariam Namazie which I found to be excruciatingly frustrating, counter-productive and disappointing. After that, I didn’t have the…[Read more]
Kamel Daoud’s article, the “Sexual Misery of the Arab World” was quite interesting and well written. The reaction of the regressive left to his writing is deplorable but predictable. I think his decision to “go silent” is a mistake because that’s exactly what his detractors want him to do. I hope he changes his mind.

Taking him dead rather than alive might have been gratifying to some, but this way he’s still a source of information. I hope they’re good at extracting it.
From a counter-terrorist operations point of view, capturing a high-level operative like Abdeslam alive is considered a great success. Facts are coming out. Abdeslam ori…[Read more]
To play devil’s advocate, the USA killed millions of children, tearing their bodies to pieces by dropping bombs from a high altitude. It is not as theatrical as ISIS, but more deadly.
Sorry Roedy but I think you are confusing “playing devil’s advocate” with “derailing the conversation”. Your comment sounds like an argumentation t…[Read more]
Whatever, I think you just described life as it’s always been.
Sure but putting in words in a clear and concise manner is important because it helps us home in on the specifics of the topic and reflect upon it after reading. This is the catalyst to the thought process that makes us acquire a better understanding of what we o…[Read more]
I take it you are referring to examples like this!
Yes, well this is an extreme example but there are others cited in the documentary not quite as worrisome from a public health point of view but still outrageous because they constitute a particularly insidious form of scamming. I’m talking about natural supplements…[Read more]
After reading many of the posts in this thread, I see that most posters focus on the argument for or against the necessity/utility of dietary supplements. I just wish to say that I have no definite opinion on the utility of dietary supplements. The reason I said that the PBS documentary I linked to was an “eye opener” is that due to the regulatory…[Read more]

And when he learned that Donald Trump is leading in the Republican primary, he jumped in his spaceship and flew right back up in space…. “I’m outta here”. (sorry Bill, couldn’t resist stealing that one from you).
I’m glad that the pro-choice crowd and the liberal media has recently stopped calling those right-wing religious bullies “pro-life”. They are now calling them anti-choice as they well should since those people […]
