Star dusty acknowledging an embryo is not a human being.  Hooray!!!

1 functioning brain per person.  You have 1 brain, and whatever I may or may not think of some of the opinions pinging about in it the fact you can post ordinary sentences proves your 1 brain is functioning.

0 functioning brains, therefore 0 persons

1 functioning brain, therefore 1 person

2 functioning brains, therefore 2 persons

Perhaps on another planet there are beings with multiple brains, or perhaps no brain at all, rather intelligence mechanisms distributed over the whole body, or, who knows?

Be that as it may, here on planet Earth, there is always a 1 to 1 correspondence between the number of functioning brains per person.  We always have precisely 1 functioning brain per person, no more, no less.

Dependency doesn’t matter. A newborn is still immobile and completely incapable of eating, drinking, or maintaining body temperature on her own.

Seeming worthlessness doesn’t matter.  Even if a person so rotten they have been locked away for life we are nearly universally agreed that we are ethically bound to provide as least some baseline of life sustenance.

Self determination doesn’t matter.  A parent can feel terrible burdens of loss of freedom, money, and life opportunities because of the burdens of parenthood.  Still, we are nearly universally agreed that killing the child as a means of ridding the parent of the burdens of parenthood is, and very well should be, a crime of the worst magnitude.

Apply some reasoning, folks, think it through, carefully.  Are you truly being self consistent when you describe how functioning brains are to be treated?
