    Nima Arkani-Hamed …, has rejected space-time as a fundamental physical reality.

    Ok, in other words physics is incomplete and nobody can fully reconcile QM with GR so there must me some more fundamental structure.

    So to say “space-time is not real” doesn’t mean what we call space-time is a grand illusion and there is no corresponding reality associated with GR, it means that GR is like Newtonian Mechanics, a valid approximation of some as yet undiscovered underlying reality.

     

    That’s not woo, it is a very logical conclusion given the manifestly incomplete state of physics today.
