Write4U:
To me mathematics offers the potential for explaining all current universal mysteries.
What is the mathematical expression that answers why there is something rather than absolutely nothing at all?
How does any mathematical expression solve the irrationality of an actual infinite?
The one question that remains is, “Why”? But in view of the unlimited potential offered by Chaos theory; “Why not”?
This sounds like a Richard Carrier “solution” to “something from nothing”. His contention was that in absolutely nothing there are no preventive rules therefore anything can happen, including something from nothing. I submitted a post stating that effects occur because of causes, not because there is nothing to stop the effect from spontaneously occurring. Of course, Carrier is an SJW and SJWs hide behind moderation walls in their safe spaces so that submission was never published.
No, monkeys typing will not write Shakespeare, brains will not pop into existence in mid space, and we still need to ask “why”.
Mathematics is an abstraction that may or may not describe a physical reality. A great failing of modern physics, mathematics, and philosophy is the failure to recognize that just because one has a mathematical expression that is logically valid that does not mean that it must describe a extant reality.
Being so unjustifiably and naively enamored of mathematics as though abstractions equal extant realities is why we get such foolishness as “point-like particles”, “the singularity at the big bang”, and “the B theory of time”.
