That was an enjoyable train of thought.
One thing that I was not for sure what you were saying was when you said “…Evolution is theoretically intelligent design, but isn’t ‘intelligent design…’ “.

3 or 4 yrs ago, with the previous system, there would be occasional blockings of posts with certain kinds of links. I can see how more sites might be deemed suspicious these days. Hopefully there will be a way to calibrate that, if that is the issue.

Back to the title topic. Despite lessons on monkeys and “the exponential function”, I have not learned anything that makes sense to me regarding my bible story lesson on how Adam and Eve populated the Earth. I realize it may be a story that was not for any early bible school participants as it must involve sexual activities that may seem to a…[Read more]

But for reals, that pic is “adorable”, yeah, yeah, yeah. But I see more. Look into that baby’s eyes. Don’t look away. Continue to look as deeply as you may, into that baby’s eyes. And I submit that it might just be a pathway to enlightenment. That baby may know things that she may never be aware of knowing. Things that we have no way of know…[Read more]

You said (Actually, the proof it’s not me is that it’s not black & white.)

Note the picture prior to colorization. Also check out the cheap digital watch from the late ’60’s on the wrist of the thrall that is feeding a bit of Adam’s (or someone’s) rib to Tee.

In a nutshell, we humans have religion by virtue of our complex verbal behavior. God is a concept. We could not have a well formulated God without the ability to conceptualize. That ability is a product of advanced verbal behavior skills. Sure, there are other pre-requisite characteristics that we and elephants, primates, etc., have as part of o…[Read more]

I see that Obama had a higher electoral vote, each time, than did T_rump. I see that the Dems can lose the Presidential election while having a >2% lead in the popular vote.
That woman has probably morphed into something horrifying, after 3 years of exposure to T_rump. People who had previously seemed to be stable statesman types, have been c…[Read more]

Do atheists have any state supported private schools where the children are required to pledge allegiance to Darwinian ideas and secularism?
I think they should, just to send a message.
Also, I really don’t get how the contemporary prosperity gospel was able to overcome the sheer hypocrisy of taking the Jesus character as its principal…[Read more]

Your polite participation in this forum is a precious thing, in that person’s advancing your agenda are not typically and consistently so pleasant.
You queried: “… does science allow for a conception of God as a self lucid form of omniscient, perpetual energy whose dominant attribute is love?” Then you provided the…[Read more]

So both problems are the same thing? I just figured out I can get in the Political forum, by clicking the forum title, as you said.
So the main problem is some posts, needlessly, being marked as spam, because a pic is too big or something?

Gomer would be an infinite improvement over T_rump.
He is currently a criminal who is above the law. That only changes when he is no longer President. The Senate could vote him out of office (just 20 repubs is all it would take – cause the Dems will be all in). But they probably will continue supporting T_rump’s criminal behaviors. But if he…[Read more]

I don’t know if the following is true, it just seems like it should be:
The following is Tee as a toddler. Having uncovered a conspiracy to combat global warming by eating babies, Tee turned the tables arguing that “Grown-ups big! More meat! Babies eat grown ups!” Her logic being undeniable, babies cannibalizing adults became a popular craze f…[Read more]

TimB: Men of another era created the Judeo/Christian God and that God’s morality.
Men can also come up with moral standards without necessarily inventing a supreme being to do so.
Religiosity is thus not needed for us to have a humanistic morality. In fact, it could be a hindrance.Sherlock: The fact is that what we call “morality” is nothin…[Read more]

Widdershins, you’re a computer kinda guy. What do you think is going on with sometimes getting a “being moderated” msg instead of your post being posted? And what about with individual forums being completely unavailable for periods of time?

IOW, more crappola. Again, Xain, you find some pop-guru philosophy to try to learn from. It’s okay. There is no sin. Only longer paths to enlightenment.

No, evolution ALSO made us capable of constructing a humanistic culture. Evolution has resulted in most of us having the capacity to empathize with others, regardless of where they come from. We can empathize with individuals of other species, for crikey’s sake.
I don’t think it’s evolution’s fault. I think you could have gone either way. Yo…[Read more]

She was right about one thing. In the middle part of the vid, she is extolling other right wingers for not recognizing back then (2012) that they should be using Facebook, Twitter, etc against the Left. This is in fact what happened in 2016, the forces of the right weaponized Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. and won.
She was wrong about Oba…[Read more]
