This is ONLY a possibility S, so take it for that. Seizures are sometimes accompanied for some people by an aura or even scents. Obviously, you are NOT having grand mal seizures, but people can have subclinical seizure activity in their brains. This could manifest as a sense of disassociation or other perceived manifestations, even if one ne…[Read more]

Eating the strawberry only takes a few seconds, and it might give the guy enough energy to climb the vine and fight the tiger. The tiger will probably rip and bite him to death anyway. He might try rapping the vine around the tiger’s neck a few times then holding the end of the vine and jumping off the cliff again, but then Ebony and Ivory the…[Read more]

He is probably just keeping the option open, to run, but if he got in soon, it would likely have the effect of splitting the moderate NOT the activist progressive votes, thus a bonus for Warren and/or Bernie, and a decrease for Biden and the moderate track.
Which is probably precisely what he does not want to do.

So he is keeping his options open to run as a Dem for President. (He beat the deadline to register in Alabama, just in case).
I say come on in, join the party. We already have a nice billionaire in the race, but maybe you have a bit better name recognition, and can do better. I doubt that you will be particularly competitive, but you never kn…[Read more]

TimB replied to the topic ERA at last? in the forum Politics and Social Issues 5 years, 3 months ago
Ultimately, I think, it will be up to women as to whether the ERA comes to be. Seems that a lot of women will still go against it. Perhaps other women don’t care or don’t think it is necessary. So far it’s just 3 guys who have even commented on it’s renewed chances.

See? They must be right. Because the headline says: Researchers Prove Consciousness Can Exist Outside of the Body

They think that consciousness is an existing background property of the universe, like gravity. They think our brains are like TV set receivers that tune in to this consciousness and we are then typically fooled by the perception of individuality. But basically they are saying that consciousness is not formed by the brain, but rather is tu…[Read more]

Or perhaps you prefer the original story, where we learn that the quest goes on regardless of its being “possible”.

So anyway, homosexuality is natural. All the other letters, seem to me to just be different flavors on the hetero to homo spectrum.
One little funny sideline in the above article, is that the world’s oldest living animal, a 186 yr old tortoise, is apparently…[Read more]

Then there is the possibility that the typical hormones present in various human conditions could naturally lead to homosexuals being spawned. But that, in itself, might be a mechanism that developed via natural evolutionary processes.

TimB said: For all we know a rise in sexualities beyond heterosexuality is the natural course of nature in contingencies of overcrowding, chaos, and stress.
Oneguy said: That’s an old theory which implies a teleological aspect to nature, but we know nature doesn’t work that way.

Public restrooms:
Just have lots and lots of one-person-at-a-time-use-restrooms, with a lock on the door. Everyone can use the same bathrooms individually and privately. Problem solved.

Okay it’s possible that we do not live in a deterministic universe. We don’t know for absolutely sure. So there, Xain, there is the sliver of doubt that you need to continue ruminations.
