Praise the spirits of Halloween! Tee is back! I was starting to fear you were MIA.
Damn! Widdershins, that IS some messed up stuff. And yet here you are today. A survivor and a thriver. I am glad you made it through.

I was just getting going on his ridiculousness. Oh well. There are plenty more of that ilk out there. Another will stop by eventually.

If you could put a bikini on a python, you would have a sexy Stephen Miller, if that helps.
(funny side note. His name had slipped my mind. So I did a web search for “Trump staff member that looks like a snake”. — Bam! The very 1st hit was the picture below.)

Illusions are part of reality, too.
We can only perceive what we are built to perceive, unless we have adaptive devices that expands our perceptive abilities. But let’s say we could perceive absolutely everything. What would that be like? I think, not very satisfying.
Or maybe if you could perceive just a wee bit more than you do now, about t…[Read more]

One has to suspend belief, of course, in order to enjoy Sci Fi. e.g., in Star Trek, how did they NOT have problems syncing up, timewise, with the rest of their civilized universe? (Considering time is relative, and they travelled at light speed frequently. Time should have been passing faster in the Federation planets and elsewhere, relative t…[Read more]

I am pretty accepting of all of the Sci-Fi stuff, unless it is too hokey. I watched Star Trek religiously when it was first broadcast. I thought it was the best show ever. Now it seems a bit hokey compared to the subsequent iterations of Star Trek. I watched all of all the episodes of those, too. Each time I thought they were great. I gues…[Read more]

Thanks for posting the verification story, Widdershins.
Still of all the gin joint campaigns, in all the world, what are the odds that that particular mistake would be made inadvertently by the alt-right oriented T rump campaign organization. — Whose leader, we now know, thinks there are good people on the side of White Supremacists in a…[Read more]

John Nielsen-Gammon, Texas state climatologist at Texas A&M University in College Station, said”Compared to a storm that would have hit, say, 30 years ago, the additional storm surge we are talking about is on the order of … about 7 inches…” If you are near a floodable area, over 1/2 a foot extra sometimes means flooding where it would not…[Read more]

TimB replied to the topic Lucid dreaming in the forum Science and Technology 5 years, 3 months ago
I rarely remember anything from dreams, except very fleetingly. I recall once as a young man, however, of being aware dreaming and (as I had heard of lucid dreaming) I tried to control something in the dream and it worked. It was also very fleeting. I never got into rigorously trying to do lucid dreaming. But I remain curious about it, es…[Read more]

Well Widdershins, meaning counter-clockwise, is a cool name as it suggests, I think, that you are willing to go against the accepted norm.

Widdershins you are VERY intelligent. And I recognize you were being tongue-in-cheek about your on-line IQ.
But just as a public announcement I would like to reiterate that IQ scores are meaningless unless done with accepted standardized testing tools by professional Diagnosticians or Psychologists.

Mark, The U.S. has never had feudalism as a form of govt. So we don’t have peasants. You seem to despise peasants. And yet your Royalty disagrees with your promotion of climate change denial. You are so far off the mark that Harry doesn’t even believe someone with your beliefs could exist.
Calling Americans peasants is not the insult that you…[Read more]

C’mon Mark! I’m doing a one man show here. Speak up!
Here’s quotes from another Royal whelp, Prince Harry, a week ago, when he said in support of Greta Thornberg:

Yeah, but fear/anxiety and “feeling awe-inspired” are just emotions. Why hold on to a dysfunctional emotion if you could substitute a functional one? (Of course you have to know which emotion is dysfunctional and when, according to context).

@3point, you are right about IQ tests, it would be a waste for you to get tested. It would be obvious to any casually observing Psychologist (tho they might not say so) that you are AT LEAST average intelligence if not above, not a genius, perhaps, but so few are.

Isn’t that a nice picture of Charles? In my wildest imagination, I never thought I would have to admire a potential King of England, a thousand times more than the current President of the United States.

(I am waiting for Mark’s reply that trashes the reputation of Dr, James E. Hansen, as that would be a typical strategy of organized climate change denial.)

America – famous for Coke, infamous for the Koch’s. The Koch’s who have funded Climate Change Denial to the tune of $127 Billion. Maybe the Brits have their own version of the Koch’s. Anyway, check this out, courtesy of Greenpeace:
