A few months ago another Brit of some “Nobility” spoke quite differently, than Mark about the danger of climate change and the urgent need for action. He said
“…the next 18 months will decide our ability to keep climate change to survivable levels and to restore nature to the equilibrium we need for our survival.”
Most of us on this forum a…[Read more]

Don’t worry Mark, I believe your IQ at 16 could have been 130. That is 2 standard deviations above normal, so quite high, but still, tentatively, believable, if you are sure the test was done by a qualified professional. You may have lost a bit in your old age, but that is natural.
Still, in the context of the current topic, none of us are…[Read more]

If the “Noble?” Mark were not so interested in celebrating his own hubris, he might have responded to the explanation site, that I posted for him that explains why our atmosphere is not remotely saturated with CO2, hence his fossil fuel think tank talking point about CO2 logarithmic BS, is busted. Let’s try again.
“… if we add more…[Read more]

130 eh? Not bad. Really pretty smart but not SO smart as to, typically, lose a sense of empathic connection with most regular humans. I guess there are exceptions to the rule.
I suggest listening to this theme song before reading Mark’s posts. It may make them more palatable.

I must issue a correction. The picture above that looks like a certain bad guy from WWII, is really just a picture of our current POTUS, that has been modified with a sharpie, for satirical purposes.
But I think that the rest of this thread is accurate. The top picture, above, was really said to have been put out briefly by the T rump campaign…[Read more]

Meanwhile, T rump has abused the power of his office to force a foreign power to provide info that T rump can use in his campaign against his opponents.
That is much worse than any regular “quid pro quo”. Tit for tat, this for that, transactions are a standard part of human life. It is that the “tit for tat” is ALSO extortion and ALSO…[Read more]

Good point, 3point. If Xain could use all that anxiety as a positive fuel, he would be a veritable dynamo.

Seriously, You love CO2. That’s ok. CO2 is full of yummy goodness for all of us. I am personally full of CO2, right now. Oh wait, I just exhaled, so not so much. But the thing is CO2 has a nasty little characteristic of being one of the greenhouse gases. Other than that it’s quite wonderful unless you go overboard and breathe in too much at…[Read more]

Indiana, I may have found another opportunity for you in your twilight years. Venus called. They heard of your love for CO2 and want you to be their marketing person to the Universe for their vast resources of atmospheric CO2. I hear it’s a really hot commodity.
Can you imagine how hot Venus would be if you were wrong about your rallying cry o…[Read more]

Well 5oK yrs ago, we did not have as complex verbal behavior, because for one thing, if we had textual behavior (a sub type of verbal behavior), it was pretty rudimentary. I imagine that our brains have evolved somewhat since then, as I would guess that persons who had more complex verbal skills would have had differential advantages in…[Read more]

Thanks that is very interesting.
Of the 4 stages that you identified:
1) T rump is not particularly brutal (well except separating young children from their parents and abandoning the Kurds to be ethnically cleansed from part of Syria).
2) And we are avoiding economic chaos for now, though we do see signs of his using the office to enrich…[Read more]

I’m curious.
Has anyone here ever experienced lucid dreaming?
What’s it like?
Do you know that you are dreaming, when it happens?
Can you choose anything you want to happen in the dream?
Does what you experience in the dream seem as clear as if you were perceiving something similar while awake?

So they’re saying that the military folks wanted to keep a presence in Syria, so they lured T rump into holding some back. Like one would manipulate a little kid. Donny! Look! Some oil fields! Let’s go get ’em.
This is like old days of child kings, when the court advisor would have to try to manipulate the king and keep the li…[Read more]

There have been some other sci fi (outer space setting) series that I liked over the years that just stopped. I presume they were cancelled.
There was one that was a stand alone series that was really good that actually, eventually, had an ending. I think it was called Firefly or something like that.
