The myth that Indiana is trying to champion, here, is that CO2 in the atmosphere will reach a point of “saturation” in which added CO2 has no impact on further global warming.
This idea is erroneous. https://skepticalscience.com/saturated-co2-effect-advanced.htm
But much worse than being wrong, the purposeful use of this myth is that it is…[Read more]

The next drawing is on Oct 30th. So the magic #’s are 2, 11, 19, 20, 25, and 40. It only pays off $140 Million, but, hey, it’s for science.
This could be a historical bit of evidence for the existence of psychic ability. Or just a waste of $2 or $3, (whatever a ticket costs).

I noticed that too, 3point. I also thought she may have meant to be addressing someone else, also.

US special forces killed Al Baghdadi. This had been planned for some time BEFORE T rump’s impulsive betrayal of the Kurds. In fact, we now hear that T rump’s insane decision to betray the Kurds, could have disrupted the plans to get Baghdadi, but fortunately, did not. We also hear that the Kurds helped out with the mission to kill Baghdadi, d…[Read more]

You said 6 numbers, but that’s only 5. If 6 are needed, here is the 6th: 17
Somebody, take a risk (what is it $2 for a powerball ticket?). And we can, now, just sit back and wait for the magic to happen.

Rationalization is a bit of an oxymoron, in that it is NOT rational, in the following aspect. Rationalization starts with a selected “side” and then comes up with arguments to support that position. Whereas, in being rational, one would initially be neutral as to sides, and then decide by the use of evidence gathered, to pick a side.
I also d…[Read more]

I have never been a big fan of Rap, but now that Kanye West has put out his Jesus Rap Album, it seems worse. Although the religious lyrics ARE probably a step up from such classics as “F___ the Police.”

Oh fraulein. I had to look up SCHADENFREUDE. I guess I am not worldly enough. But now that I know what it means, I will use it in a sentence.
I would have the utmost SCHADENFREUDE if T rump were removed from office.

Xain, I think you are correct that some functions of the brain aren’t really localized but the result of different areas in concert. This will be a complex task, no doubt. And we do not yet have good enough technology to make much sense of it. But that looks like, just a matter of time, until we do.
You can’t say that the self does not exis…[Read more]

Let’s see. Do I agree with this statement from that site? “Science cannot prove or refute the existence of God or any other supernatural entity.”
I agree that science cannot prove the existence of invisible pink unicorns. Can science refute the existence of supernatural entities? No. Not completely. But at some point when legiti…[Read more]

I know that it can be tricky, to not bring political beliefs into a discussion of a scientific (or, in this case, a pretend-scientific) topic. But in the case of climate change denial, we have political interests overriding the legitimate science that has been done. And those political interests have been very well funded and have existed for a <…[Read more]

So you are going to present objective evidence of the existence of spirits, in one month from now? And in the same breath you suggest that the scientific method is too limited to account for it.
I am not optimistic, at all, about what you will present. But hey! It would be something if you could present objective reproducible evidence.

It is always a good idea to be skeptical of anything T rump says, since, more often that not, he’s lying in some way, whenever he says anything.
In this case, the Russians say he is lying (they already claimed that they killed Bagdaddy some time back.) So it could be like dueling banjos of liars. But I am leaning toward believing that B…[Read more]

Oh boy. Maybe my initial impression of you was correct after all.
It’s not so much funny as it is sad that you have probably mis-interpreted (as have so many others) subjective perceptions as being evidence of something supernatural.
If you can use proper, rigorous, scientific methods to study your hypothesis that spirits exist, then have at…[Read more]
