For people with an obsession with an incoherent god, I can see how believing in T rump wouldn’t be much of a stretch for believing more BS.
When I worked in early childhood intervention, I would sometimes see Catholic Charities providing some services for those without financial means.

There you go introducing more useless new terms that serve nothing but to obfuscate understanding. “Internal Surrogate” Is that another homunculus?
Look. We are on the Boardwalk. We see a child with a red balloon. Our eyes along with other parts of our neurological system, are essential to this particular perception. Later we fall aslee…[Read more]

To be fair, I think that Catholic Charities does a lot of good charity work, without (AFAIK) proselytizing to the poor people they help.

Trump’s campaign productions are a dickish-palooza of dickishness. And they seem to be getting worse.

“…So after that all I can think about is my likes and wishes being an enemy of me, how can I live like that?”
If your sexual desires are your enemy you could have angry sex with them. Then you could have make up sex with them. Your enemy (sexual desires) would have won but you could have had fun in the meantime and hopefully wind up making peace.

48% of Americans think T rump should be impeached AND removed from office. 48% oppose his being removed. The thing is, the %’s are moving over time more in favor of his removal from office.
It is a forlorn hope, but I can’t help but hope against hope that enuf Americans accept the truth of T rump’s crime against our democracy and the C…[Read more]

His declaration of abandoning the Kurds was impulsive with no planning other than his saying that in his own fantastic wisdom, he will determine if Turkey crosses some vague line in destroying Kurds, and then he will obliterate the Turkish economy.
Won’t that be special, destroying the economy of a major mid east nation (not to mention a NATO…[Read more]

Again, redness, tones, saltiness are not behaviors. Mentally experiencing those things are the behaviors.
You say “Redness is a thing in itself that must be Explained… The Redness itself is very Mysterious.”
For whatever reason our neurology and eyes allow us to perceive colors. So yes perceiving is a behavior. Tasting, seeing, hearing,…[Read more]

Back in the day of Saddam Hussein, H.W. Bush encouraged the Kurds, I think, to revolt, but then just let them get crushed when they did. So that was a bit of a screw-over. But H.W. only got 1 term. And H.W. did not tell 12,000 plus lies. H.W. did not unilaterally make profoundly impactful military decisions (without any deliberation at all…[Read more]

IDK but W may have been referring to T rump’s 1st state phone call with the head guy in Australia. As I recall, it went badly and Trump was rude. I don’t recall the details.

Shortly after 9-11, I began learning all I could about Islam. I got an English version copy of the Quran and “Islam for Dummies”, a few other books. Then I got online (I think it was with AOL back then) and joined a posting forum much like this but it was basically manned and womaned by mostly American (tho not all American) Muslims who were a…[Read more]

Re: The neural correlates of a mental behavior being the same thing as the mental behavior.
Consider the neural correlates of a physical behavior (let’s say tapping your foot). With the tap of your foot, there are neural correlates. The neural correlates are not the entire behavior, but they are definitely a requisite part of the be…[Read more]

I had that thought also. In fact, I thought it was a quote from me. But I guess that Lausten somehow navigated my mental landscape and copied that thought (or maybe vice a versa, maybe I…).

The thing about a social task like that, is it could take some communication skill that they don’t have. If a fellow Bonobo is pulling on a log, I might be curious, but I might also consider that it was apparently important to my friend and I would not want to interfere with whatever he was doing. He doesn’t know how to ask me for help moving a…[Read more]

That’s still about 30 million people (if you include their kids in the estimate). And they are, of course, spread out geographically to some extent.
I would go with the internet. I would suggest Cambridge Analyticizing them. And thereby, not only, gradually and subtley influencing their opinions, but also enlisting some of them (without th…[Read more]

Btw. I am a dick, oft times with the Bernie supporters who allowed Trump to become Pres by not voting for Hillary. They screwed us all. But Bernie is and has always been, even still is, heart attack and all, just doing what he has always been doing, his whole life, fighting the top 1% of the top1%.

Good post W.
But I don’t blame Bernie for his supporters BS. And Yang’s 1k per mo. for all? It won’t happen, it is too new of an idea in our politics, but I don’t think it is such a bad idea. True. He has little apparent compassion for other human lives, unless there is some political edge for him in appearing to have some modicum of compassion. In the latter case, he just lies accordingly, no real compassion.
